@@qualitycontrolengineer8348 No, I did not say these are not used in GSB mix. I said that for getting the gradation of GSB, in the given example case, aggregates of 20 mm and 6 mm are not needed. It all depends on the grading of aggregates of different sizes available at site. The final mix should conform to MoRTH grading. I hope it is clear.
Sir i have one doubt. As we conduct mdd/omc test we apply 55 blows for each layer. Therefore to get 98% of MDD how many blows per layer should we apply when casting CBR mould.
The MoRTH recommended GSB grading are low on permeability. However IRC 58 provides guideline for US grading. This doesnt match with Morth grading. Also the design method for drainage layer given in IrC 58 is for rigid pavement and not flexible. Practically designer have no option to design GSB for flexible pavement other than accepting minimum thickness of 200mm as recommended. Since drainage layer is an important element is there a method for designing gsb for flexible pavement with appropriate permeability? Also especially when we are now constructing wider pavement for expressways.Kindly advice.
when you lay GSB in two layers, the lower layer of 100 mm thickness acts as drainage layer. You can certainly use the philosophy of design given in IRC:58 to design this layer.
Gap graded. The necessaty condition for an open grading is stone on stone contact. Watch my video on Open Graded Friction Course and another one on SMA
Good afternoon sir Sir in mord specification for rural road grading of gsb is different from morth specification for road and bridge for grading I/II/lll 1.Sir which gradation we need to follow for PMGSY works? 2.why gradation for gsb is different in mord and morth? Regards
@@govindarajv5713 Yes, you are correct. If GSB is laid in two layers of then the top layer will act as a drainage layer. It is mentioned in the video also. I checked.
Wonderful! Thanks!
Glad you liked it! Keep watching
Thank you sir for this informative lacture. You have cleared the doubts of CBR sample preparation and grading of GSB.
It's my pleasure

Super information sir
Thanks and welcome. Keep watching
@@SatishIITR sir please make video for filter media mix design
Just fully watched, one more very informative and useful video, thankyou sir.
Thanks. Keep watching and share the link in your groups.
I have no words to express my gratitude sir ! 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much. I am happy to note that you liked it.
Thank you very much, keep watching. There are many on my channel.
Thank you sir for this very helpful lecture. Plz make video on WMM mix design for flexible pavement.
Ok, noted. There are many more videos on highway Engineering which are available on my channel. You may like to watch them also.
@@SatishIITR Ohk sir.
Very nice & explicit explanation.
Pls. upload more videos related to highway construction.
please visitmy channel and you will find many. Last Sunday (19 June) I uploaded the video on Warm Mix Asphalt.
Thank you sir.. I was searching for a class with English language .. Good ppt and Good Class sir🌹🌹🌹
Thanks, there are many more to watch.
Excellent lecture, very much useful for all the civil engineers, highway and transportation professional s.
Many thanks
Mack more videos like this sir thanks
Sure, many more will come. please share the link in your group also.
@@SatishIITR ok sir
very good lecture..please keep posted us with good transportation lectures.
Thank you Mohsin, I am trying to pick up typical topics only. You may also suggest if you want any special topic to be covered here.
Sir very very helpful ....thanks
Thanks. Please forward the link to your friends and colleagues also.

Thanks, keep watching
Very Informative lec sir
I have one question
Why it is necessary to avoid broken back curve while designing horizontal alignment
broken back curves are too closed spaced and therefore sight distance becomes a problem.
Sir i have one doubt. As we conduct mdd/omc test we apply 55 blows for each layer. Therefore to get 98% of MDD how many blows per layer should we apply when casting CBR mould.
CBR mould is casted as per standard procedure at OMC.

Thank you sir for this valuable video. Sir how do we test unconfined compressive strength of GSB mixes?
UCS can be determined as per ASTM D 1633. You need to apply vacuum to retain the shape of the sample.
Grading 3 and 4 are gap graded or open graded sir?
Gap graded. The necessaty condition for an open grading is stone on stone contact. Watch my video on Open Graded Friction Course and another one on SMA
