Crazy to see someone else start off trying to dunk and move focus to track. I did similar and moved to high jump, I found I jump better over a bar and without a ball as opposed to uncoordinated dunking. Ur bloody blazing fast my man I hope you stick to it. Also really cool to see your form improve so much and god damn ur power cleans are elite!
Yup gonna stick to it got a goal of making the commonwealth games team for Scotland in 26' but yeah I've been told its an interesting story getting into it because I wanted to dunk and now here I am!
Do you have any advice/training routines for people who want to train speed for other sports (obv I'm not trying to go sub 11 more like sub 12.5 but I don't even do track & field) and don't have equipment or access to a track nearby? What I have is a squat rack with barbell+plates and a short maybe 40-50 m field near me.
so the basic idea is you need to get strong and explosive. you should just build strengths in ur lower body (hamstrings, glutes, quads, calves, etc) you should also start doing plyometrics (box jumps, bounds, pogos, etc) then you should apply the two together (do lifts like power cleans, snatches, box squats) finally you should just practice sprinting as well as maintain good form tldr get strong explosive and powerful as well as maintain good form and consistent training
Try and get track work if you can even once a week would be good you really need to be exposing yourself to some quality sprint work grass is good but not all the time!
I don't think what you are saying about the freelap cones is accurate. Say in the case of a 30m fly with 4 cones to get 10m splits. I don't think the app stacks a bunch of 10m splits on top of eachother, as when I added the splits up, sometimes it is a little off compared to the total/overall time between 1st and last (say 4th) cone. When you cross the 'Finish' cone, it substracts from the 'Start' cone ....the splits are displayed individually, and you can see the 0.01-0.02 errors bouncing around within the splits, the the final result is simply based off start minus finish.
From my experience with the cones it adds the splits up I notice sometimes there is a small 1 hundredth discrepancy but never experienced what you've said in the near 2.5 years of using the system. all I know is its not amazingly accurate but I still quite like it for longer splits!!!
@@camyjumpsDid you buy the started gun cone too? It's crazy that's not included imo. I have the Jawku, it's $200 and uses a watch plus your phone camera to time your runs from the start. But you can't do splits unless more than one (obviously). I was thinking of getting a freelap just to time splits, but it's NUTS that it's $800 CAD and doesn't even include the cone for audible starts. So if you want that it's like $1200

Ran downhill sprints and lifted weights worked well for me
Each to there own! over speed can be a great but potent stimuli!
nice work!
Thanks!
good videos - well done on progress. I was wondering if you can tell me the cones system and application you use to track your times? thanks
The system I used was freelap timer!

Basically this make but make sure sprinting/elastic work is a priority!

can you PLEASE give you complete wotkout to how you got this far ( hurdles, sprints and jumps) i would really appritioate it
I don't just have workout his is years of elastic work, consistent sprinting 10-100m in training and lifting heavy weights fast.
what app are you using to time your splits??
Freelap timer its a system!

😩
🙏
you trying to go sub 11!?!?!
@Camy Dunks truly 🙏 don't know if I'll get it this year though. I started off my season with an 11.6something so I'll have to see 🗿.
Where is this track located? 3:38
it's Pingles stadium near Coventry!
How do you time yourself what app is that ?
its a freelap timer (timing system) cost a decent bit but I think of it as an investment in my training!

you have no drive phase, you just come straight up out of the blocks, with a drive phase you could knock even more time off
Lokey thought the same but it works for me need to experiment a little with it maybe during my off season this year
Are those 30m times without RT.
yes if it days for example 4.02 in test its no rt!
Sub 10 in 3 years?
I'll do what the British accountant did by 28 😤
