    Hi, can this mushrooms use in braised sauce with egg like 卤肉。instead of using meat. Perfer to be in simple vegetarian version. Tks

      I don't think this mushroom is good for braised sauce since its best cooked in dry form. Best mushrooms for braised sauce would be dried shiitake mushrooms. This is just my opinion.

    I got some fresh Lion's Mane from my friend which is brown in colour. Can I eat it. Please

      Fresh lion mane should be white or pale in color n can be store in the fridge for up to 10 days. If they are brown i think you better bin them. Dried lion mane are slightly yellowish in color and can be store up to a year. We usually used dried ones.

    I was going to try this, but some people say monkey head mushroom is sometimes bitter. Was it bitter tasting?
    Also, it supposedly has a lot of good nutrients that improve concentration and memory, but after soaking and washing the dried mushroom many times, don't you lose alot of good nutrients?

    • @1228cooking
      @1228cooking  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes its bitter thats why we have to soaked n washed. I dont think nutrients are all lost because they are dried mushrooms and we need to do that before consumption. If you have fresh ones you dont need to do all the procedures.

    Completely wrong way to cook and or eat this dish from start to finish….mushrooms are 80-90% water…never rinse or wash lions mane or any mushrooms really, start off by frying them on high heat for 10 mins until most of the water is evaporated from them and then add a little butter and or other ingredients to your choosing, but one should never ever add water to mushrooms, there really is no point, add other flavors instead.

      Are you talking about fresh lion's mane? I am talking about dried lion's mane. We only have dried ones. How are we to eat if we don't soak in water first. It's as hard as a rock.

    • @jaicabardo4357
      @jaicabardo4357 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Dried lion's mane has to be soaked in water because if you eat it right away, it will be crunchy, hard, and extremely bitter.

      This thing about not adding water to mushrooms or even washing them feels like a persistant myth. They will take longer to brown but mushrooms happily grow in rainy climates with no ill effects. Just don't wash ahead of time and leave them wet in the fridge for hours.
