“It's not about wanting to leave the country. One thing is to travel free and another is to leave the country. The right to travel is a constitutional right, it is a legal right, it is one of the fundamental rights. As we know, in criminal matters, with the passing of time, these preventive measures are to relax a lot, which is why, like any citizen, especially if he is not of Romanian nationality, who has children in the territory of another state, naturally they want to be able to leave the territory of Romania, where they have been held for approximately two years. Not being able to leave the country for Two years is a restriction of the rights. “

"Dont you think it's crazy, there’s an active genocide taking place right now and they are blowing children apart with military-grade weapons and here we are two years later after one woman told a lie and international reporters flying around the world and the government is spending money in courtrooms and the media is constantly talking about this one little girl’s lie when something as unjust as a genocide is taking place. Isn’t the world insane, Isn’t this a clown show, Isn’t this all just a big clown’s world, nothing is fair nothing makes sense, don’t you take a look around and ask what is going on?

    STORYLINE:
Andrew Tate appeared Thursday at the Bucharest Court of Appeal to challenge a court decision on May 10 to extend a travel ban for 60 days.
The social media influencer requested that he be able to leave Romania provided he stayed within Europe’s ID-check-free Schengen zone, which Romania partially joined in March.
Lawyer Eugen Vidineac said that, “It's not about wanting to leave the country. One thing is to travel free and another is to leave the country. The right to travel is a constitutional right, it is a legal right, it is one of the fundamental rights.’’
Tate, a former professional kickboxer and dual British-U.S. citizen, was initially arrested in December 2022 near Bucharest along with his brother Tristan and two Romanian women.
Romanian prosecutors formally indicted all four in June last year and all four have denied the allegations.
After the Tate brothers’ arrest, they were held for three months in police detention before being moved to house arrest.
They were later restricted to Bucharest Municipality and nearby Ilfov County, but may now travel freely around Romania.
On April 26, the Bucharest Tribunal ruled that the prosecutors’ case file against Tate met the legal criteria and that a trial could start but did not set a date for it to begin.
That ruling came after the legal case had been discussed for months in the preliminary chamber stages, a process in which the defendants can challenge prosecutors’ evidence and case file.
Andrew Tate, who has amassed 9.3 million followers on the social media platform X, has repeatedly claimed that prosecutors have no evidence against him and that there is a political conspiracy to silence him.
