I remember watching Vampire Knight as a tween girl and just screeching with angst at how much I hated Yuki. The show was honestly unwatchable because of her, and now I realize shes the archetype of a Mary Sue AND a pick me. OOOOOFFFFF

Tbh, I actually liked how Vic voiced Zero's character, it seemed to fit Zero pretty well in my personal opinion🙃 Plus, The voice he did for zero is very similar to the Japanese dub for zero's Japanese voice actor, or at least it sounded very similar to me lol😅🙃
Dude I agree, it was Kaname's voice actor and also Yuuki's that gave terrible reads.

This anime was also my intro into anime and I first watched it as a freshman in high school. I also later read the whole manga and was confused by the plot bc I didn't get what the plot was. I'm surprised no one recognizes the guy who voices aido bc he is EVERYWHERE in dubbing shows and it's not hard to find him bc he uses the same voice no matter who he is voicing. My best friend and I dislike him with a burning passion
Omg Bryce Pappenbrook. LMFAOOOOOOOO🤣🤣😭😭🤣😭🤣🤣. He literally IS everywhere tho. He's Adrien, Eren, Inosuke and a bunch of other people. He uses the same voice for all his characters and you can immediately recognize him. I've made a game out of it 😭💀💀💀💀🤣

When I first watched this my older sister made us binge the WHOLE thing in one night back when hulu was free. I remember being infatuated with Kaname that looked past all his red flags thinking it was just hardcore flirting 💀 but I know what stayed since the first watch was the absolute downbad wack ass Yuki Cross was!!

I Can’t believe that some of my favorite voice actors are in this show, such as Travis Willingham, Laura Bailey, Bryce Papenbrook, Steve Staley, Stephanie Sheh, Dorothy Fran, Jameson Price and Troy Baker. And half of them don’t even try their best in this show, it’s like they were all bored out of their wits after reading the entire Twilight Saga before they did some recording for Vampire Knight. Maybe this is the anime version of Twilight because a lot of the dub actors aren’t putting their all into this.

So I have never actually watched Vampire Knight cuz my dad told me when I was really really young that I couldn't watch it until I was "older" and I decided that meant I could never watch it, but it's holds a special place in my heart as if I watched it becuz my oldest sibling really liked it and even bought the entire manga set as well as the art book (which they gave to me and I still have, btw) and one of my friends was downright obsessed with it and told me so much about it I basically know everything that happened and everything about the characters and story. To this day I've only fully watched to about the third episode, but in my heart I've watched it all the way through. I can not wait until you guys post Guilty.

I first watched VK like twelve years ago and it was sooo bad it was good, many repeat viewings for me, but unfortunately didn't have anyone to make this hilarious commentary with (or fun drinking game!) I just don't get characteristic in this of yuki at all along with Kamae, it's twilight zone took in.
I mean zero was most interesting of his personality and story of what goes beyond.
I mean anime style and background was perfectly fine. It just the story wasn't pleasing at all.
I mean manga didn't do good of plot either. I mean all of it was confusing even the anime.
It questions the author of vampire knight, what was actual truth to the anime that you were going for your dreams, I mean what was the understanding of the story, it's a full mess, the characters did not put in much of what story was given. There too much of situations in one particular place. There's no showing consideration of one of characters that are a creep.

I hate an anime with stories and filler written into a pattern. Ex: Pokemon, Naruto and Vampire knight repeat this so many times that I tried to watch their movies. But later that's useless, because the movie goes completely off the rails!

i know you guys hate this anime, i feel a little disheartened as this was one of my earliest animes that pretty much started my interest. It was also a very iconic anime for Australian Kids back in 2010s ish who watched ABC3. basically it was the most mature show and was the last show before the program ended. I am most likely bias but i liked this show as it had a deeper meaning for me. i will admit years later that the dub wasnt all that flash and the story didnt go the way i personally wanted (team Zero) (i know the manga ending dont worry) but i think its getting quite alot of negative attention granted westerners arent used to the certain relationship genre that yuki and kaname have. i also think it was a bit unfair insulting matsuri hino's art style. it is an older style , and not every artist have the same talent. but we area all entitle to oppinions, and i know alot of you are just going to laugh at this comment. but i atleast want to be some one who tries to give some sympathy and kindness to Matsuri. Being a manga author is not that easy or rewarding afterall, its a hard job in japan.
can we atleast agree that the OP and ending music were good? for both seasons, i especially liked Kanon Wakeshima's cello play.
I forget if I left it in or if it’ll just be in the full audio version, but Maddie actually read a lot of the manga and quite liked the art style- it’s the anime that’s whack and that definitely bc the animators were overworked

@@ItMustBeK8 i suppose perhaps people are upset because of the anime, but a big complaint i heard was story and the story is from the manga. like i said we all have our own thoughts and that is more than okay (we cant all like the same things ) and i said i am most likely bias because of that unique encounter with the anime haha. im not angry or hateful, only a little sad that i am only seeing a lot of negatives views on the anime which most people then relay onto the manga as it also follows the same story Afterall. plus the drawings were old and many modern day anime viewers seem to hate old styles which is a reallly a disapointment. i personally love em if not even prefer them, as i also watched stuff like inuyasha ,bleach, neon genesis etc around the same time.
i wasn't tryna stir up too much trouble but i did want to add some support to a much belove franchise of mine (the anime basically was one of my child hood animes, at the time there was only one channel dedicated to foreign media, (SBS) but included chinese, japanese, vietnamese, french, german, polish etc. it was every country basically and anime was hardly if not never really seen)
with regards with the eyes, especially yuki's eyes were quite predominantly large at times it does give me a minor chuckle, but i really did grew up with mainly the older animes like Elfen lied, Rurouni kenshin, death note ,Miyazaki's many films. where most of them do have quite large eyes, and in all honesty i dont/didnt mind it and to this day i consider it a style. and to be quite honest I do prefer older anime to most of these newer ones. Older refering anything before 2012 ish really. alot of 1990s things aswell.
but anyhow that is my tale.
I think if the story was tighter in the anime there could have been something maybe good there, but if I remember correctly I think the anime was working with unfinished manga at the time so it’s no wonder the story gets a lot of complaints
Also fun fact/side note- my favorite style is that even older mid-80s look, which is even more cartoony with its facial expressions 😆😆

But yeah VK definetly had flaws, haha.
All is good, only got concerned because i saw another Channel bash VK quite heavily (i havent heard vampire knight mention in years, i felt like it really was forgotten) and was starting to think its become a trend or something XD.

I met Vic Mignogna at a con years ago and while waiting for him we realised he was in his own line jokingly slagging himself off saying things like “I hear this dudes a real scumbag” and people didn’t realise it was him because he’s buffer and more southern US than people realise irl and this was like right after he got fried from being Qrow and he hugged people way to tight like my friend looked like she’d suffocate.
The Qrow role was his best imo, im so mad he fumbled like that
