    I performed this upgrade on my 2013 (7th Generation) Camry SE 2.5. I installed pads, rotors and calipers with brackets. The parts were from a 2009 Highlander. I also upgraded the front brake hoses to stainless steel to improve pedal feel. I finished up with a complete brake fluid bleed and replacement. The results are fabulous.....the weak braking I disliked is now smooth and extremely strong. Do it!!

      Did you have to upgrade the brake booster I ordered some off Amazon and it would bouillon pressure and only one piston will pump ?

    Great job!
    I needed up buying the 2022 TRD calipers from the dealer, for my 22 XSE V6 it brakes better but I think I will notice a better difference once I upgrade the brake lines

    You did the Highlander swap I saw guy did it on facelift model 2015. Which I own but not a bad upgrade my stock brakes do fade a lot

    So your Camry is a 2018+ and you used front calipers and rotor front a 2018+ Highlander?
    Help, I’m really interested in this upgrade for my car.

    So what differences have you noticed since the mod? On other cars, some have said their brakes tend to want to lock up during hard braking.

    i have a 2015 toyota camry SE and i want to change my stock rotors and single piston caliper to bigger size like that. can you please send me the parts number of a rotor and the dual piston caliper? how about the bracket caliper? do i need to change it or not. thank you 🙏

    • @rkgsd
      @rkgsd 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When going to a larger caliper, the bracket will naturally be larger as well to accommodate the size.

    • @Fister_of_Muppets
      @Fister_of_Muppets ปีที่แล้ว

      If you buy the A-Premium brand calipers, they come with the brackets and will save you a few $. I just spec'd everything for a 2011 Highlander and it fit on my 2013 Lexus ES350 which should fit on your car as well.

    Looks like you had to permanently remove the dust shields to make room for the wider caliper. Just curious why you kept the same size rotor and didn't use Highlander rotors?

    • @joehowto
      @joehowto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is the highlander rotors. You just need to bend the dust shield backward. No need to remove it

      You can use the 2020 camry TRD rotors with 2018 Highlander calipers and you won't need to bend the heatshields

    • @Fister_of_Muppets
      @Fister_of_Muppets ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Keep in mind that the stock Camry/Avalon/ES350 "dust shield" is actually 350mm, so even with the larger brake rotors they will still be sufficient in size. You'll still want to keep them since they are actually "splash shields." They're primary function is to keep mud/water from splashing on the inside of the rotor during braking. So if you have to bend them a little that is fine, but don't get rid of them.
