- This is a recreation of Metallica's "You Must Burn!" from their new album "72 Seasons".
Instruments were recorded from scratch, using mixing and sound design techniques to replicate the sonic style and tone of Metallica's self titled "Black album"
Note: Please excuse the rough quality of the vocal track. I tried using AI to replicate James's young voice, but the results had too much audible artifacts, so I added the AI vocals low in the mix underneath the originals, you can barely hear it but it adds some subtle grit and aggression.

Yeah like the other guy said, i already consider it the yellow album, it's actually fantastic how they found such balance and unified mixing through it, not to mention they all sound equal on this one (maybe the drums a bit too loud) but that still don't stop me from hearing everything else unlike ajfa or death magnetic where one or another took too much space in the mix even tho both had great other parts that are great but isn't heard that much.

@@hiphopgrinch As much as i love metallica. I gotta say my Snakebyte Explorer sounds absolute best in D standard, my favorite tuning. Its just much more growl to it, but still has the tightness and versatiity to go high without it being for lack of better term "muddy/same'y". Sad but true, such awsome sound in the song. But good arguments can be made for the E standard too.

Newsted elaborated on the tone from black album and most fans think that "something was wrong" that date from the kill em all album. Actually all was very purposeful as metallica asked bob rock to make their album sound deeper rather than flat short distortion and bass that they were doing previously. That was due to the fact that grunge and bands like alice in chains, nirvana and other were gaining traction with deep bass and simple riffs, often with dropped one string

The ONLY thing is needs is a much more punchy snare. The Black album snare felt like a gunshot going off, on this it's just a bit subdued. But otherwise this is fantastic.

It's pretty damn close man jesus...One on One studio is special and even they used every trick under the sun to get that room massive (ply wood and mics all over the fucking place), there is no recreating that perfectly. Honestly, this is probably the closest I have heard someone has come to recreating it, the drum sound is close, it needs what it cannot have to make it 100% and that's the room dynamics. \m/

They need Bob Rock back as just a producer and mixer. That is it. Keep his mouth shut about structure and writing. Just make it sound good.

Bob Rock did an awesome,e job with the Black Album but Load ReLoad and St. Anger sucked 72 Season's sounds like it should be with what I call the classic old school Metallica records
@@brianpatrickreddington1750 sonically Load and Reload are nearly flawless. The guitar tone was the only issue because of its bluesy nature. And being tuned a half step down.

@@chromebull884remember they did st anger on purpose that way as a response to current trends while the band was falling apart simultaneously. bob rock would be a welcome change of pace now the producer they swiped from rick ruben has the most sterile dry uninteresting mixes i have ever heard. he also effectively neutered the metallica guitar tone. load had more distortion. bob rock could right that ship and squeeze another classic album out of those goofballs. the man makes masterful sounding albums. anyone tell me with a straight face that dr. feelgood and the black album arent two of the best sounding rock/metal albums ever.

I think I prefer the tones on the new album for these songs personally. It fits better.

Sounds sooo much better. Metallica shoots themselves in the foot with the guitar tones and instrument sounds they play with these days. I don't get it theyre albums could sound so much heavier.

I think James voice sounds the best it has in a long time but other than that I can’t say I agree with their choice to sound less heavy…. Kirk doesn’t play the solos properly… he doesn’t even play the full solo at times (blackened) I don’t see how that’s a second prime but to each his own.
They didn’t cut corners in the 80s and early 90s
metallica is a bad metallica tribute group. they are great players but they fail in sound and tone departmant imo
I see these comments about James' better voice every year lol. James lost his voice in 1993 and since then, he sounds like a coverband. However, I still love them.

Seriously ! It’s a lack of intensity. The anger and drive that was there in them to be the best, to put on the best show possible just isn’t there anymore.
I think that they think because they’re old now it’s ok for them to kinda dial it back and take it easy but people pay good money for their shows.
To me they should’ve never let up from that attitude that they had when they were younger. I would respect current Metallica so much more if they still managed to play and put on a show Iike they are hungry.
I miss James’ 1991 voice where he’d yell yeaaahYEAAAAH!!!!!!! With all that power and grit in his vocals it just added to the intensity.
Watching them play now they just look so casual and like they’re almost going through the motions in a way. When you take heavy metal and play it like a bunch of casuals it just defeats the purpose of metal in my opinion.
Metal should be loud, heavy, crunchy and intense as hell. It’s not meant to be laid back music played by guys who are acting like they’re out for a Sunday drive. That type of sound and casual play style
just isn’t meant for heavy metal in my opinion.
This is why as much of a fan as I am I have no desire to see them live. They’ve been playing lazy like this for way too long now and combined with the fact that they have so many high quality videos of their live performances I feel like I literally have no reason to see them live

You see the way Metallica has lost the ability to utilize the palm mute. It's hard to not just play these riffs this way straight from the beginning. In a way that makes Metallica still very original.

metallica has lost what once made them great. not sorry not sorry but theyre dried up and basically havent made anything good in the past 25 years BESIDES all nightmare long and spit out the bone. those two songs are the only thing that they have put out that is even remotely metallica.
this song is terrible like the rest of this album. theres not one single song that is "METALLICA" on the album. might as well have called the album "un-load".
