The snake posture , one of the 8 animal postures (ashtavadivu) taken in kalaripayattu that forms the root of the whole
Practice it for -
Strengthening of glutes , leading to hip and thigh mobility
Stretching the neck , chest , spine , shoulder
Strengthening of core muscles and ankles
And it also Stimulates various organs of the body.

In kalari all stances starts with Left leg front. Even when transforming to ashes vadiv the torso should be close to the thighs. It's really effective.. try it.
