The pro's and con's of deck on or off. Taking the deck off allows you to climb over snow banks that would normally catch the deck. I leave the deck on because it puts about 60lbs extra on the tractor, especially on the front wheels which will skid on a tight turn with out the extra weight.

Thanks a lot. I have little experience with these machines and I just picked up a 1998 craftsman DYT 4000 do you think that plow will work on that machine?
It should. I saw a picture of a DYT 4000 with the same plow attached. The mounting brackets have multiple holes drilled with heavy duty carriage bolts to match different frame mounting locations.
I have a '98 Craftsman GT. A big heavy powerful machine. Way better than the newer riders I've had. Keeping this one for the long run.
