Love the videos!! I have a 46” Craftsman mower model 917 and I just got a Craftsman 42” snow blade model 486.244414. Going to install it this week sometime. I hope it goes well. Looking forward to using it.
@@UrbanSuburban Most smaller snow plow blades have a spring and lever on the center of the mount behind the blade. The lever controls a pin to fit in holes, or the lever itself fits into notches to keep the blade centered or angled to left or right side.
@@UrbanSuburban The cable could very well be broken or disconnected. It might help if you had someone operating the lever on the handle while you watched the mechanism on the plow. If it's the cable, I'm sure a new one can be purchased from Craftsman or Ebay.

Not really. The deck is very heavily built, and it adds extra weight to the front end. With all of the weight on the back tires the front tires would skid when I turned, and with the extra weight on the front they get a better grip when turning.
Stephen Festus good thank you buddy ive got a 06 1000 from my friend plow and all dont have a large area to do in winter i just didnt know if it would harm the deck and belts thanks for your reply lets hope the winter will be mild again im in ohio.thanks again.
I bought it at Sears. It has to be assembled, but it is very straight forward, and can be done in about an hour. Also the kit comes with two separate mounting brackets so it will fit on different types of tractors.
The Sears website says it sells for $234.00 I paid a little less than that due to discounts. The chains were extra, so to keep the cost down I made my own tire chains from chain and screen door springs purchased at Home Depot.
Jordan Bronson most mower decks raise about 2”, 3” at most. Manuals even call for deck removal, but hey, if anyone wants to leave theirs on, then by all means knock yourselves out 😎

I put this on my John Deere, works great except for hard ice or frozen ice :/. But it worked on John Deere and MTD Craftsman
I have the the same and knock wood itnalways starts and I've had it for over 10yrs now.
Put some kind of seat on the D/B sit on it to give more weight.
