Been meaning to do this for a while. Appreciate all your coverage/videos on New World. I have found them helpful. Know it can be hard as a content creator when the game you are covering is struggling.

Played since launch, I have 5 lvl 65 char's all geared across several servers. Waited for the announcement and then, sadly, uninstalled.....

I feel your pain, I had a dream that character stiffness when moving, the look of female characters and swimming in water would change but they dropped a new patch ignoring these annoying issues and that did it for me. I did not purchase the new patch with the mounts and stuff, just uninstalled the game, abandoned it and moved on. The game had potential, LOTS of it, I just loved the randomness of the world and that you could interact with every little thing and get completely submerged in it but they clearly ignore the community.

1.1k hours and I got my money's worth, haven't played since 2022 but still held on hope

It's really sad that it is dying for so long. But well, it was money we'll spend.
I really enjoyed the game and spent many good hours playing it.
But that was too much. It's not bad marketing, they just lied to us! I've now quit so I won't be fooled any longer.
I have an Ashes of Creation Alpha 2 key and will spend my time there.
If I can't play the game I was sold on PC or continue to have access to it once this console update comes. We better get a refund for the base game.
I can't believe people still actually have hope that more content will be revealed next week. Their words don't mean shit right now. They're liars. We'll have to wait until October to find out what we're really getting.
I think people are just desperate for MMOs and people just going to have to learn to let go of the concept of good MMOs honestly the only good MMO you can trust is probably see if heroes it's free and not based on making money but just donations to keep it running.
$50 game, $25 expansion and I have 1800 hours played. Pretty good number of entertainment hours per dollar spent. When the game no longer engages me I'll move on to something else and consider it great value for my money while it lasted. Nothing is forever.

When Scot Lane lied on stage at IGN about “there is loads of end game content” I hit the uninstall button.
Its a complicated multi year toxic relationship with ags. But blatently they said were violating the pact of transparency and communication, and in return we promise a huge announcement and your going to be pleased and suprised. They did not deliver. Simple.
My biggest detraction - and why i stopped playing - pre-launch you could build your own towns entirely, then they took away farming and went to instanced housing. This change totally lost my interest.

Crazy how well made new world is and this happens. The audio, pvp combat and open world were done so well initially. Something only skilled devs can do.
Yeah it's crazy how well made certain aspects of the game are but the real soul of the game is always lacking because the greed comes in it's all about attracting the numbers first and then they just let go like many of these MMOs in the past.

Jay, I apologize if this has been asked before. What is your interest level in World of Warcraft? Haven't seen you cover it so not sure if you are maybe not interested? MMORPG wise it feels like it is the one in the spotlight at the moment. Since they have all the different versions out right now. Cataclysm Classic, Pandaria Remix, War with in expansion etc. Just curious if you have any interest in covering content for it.
I think he said somewhere he doesn’t enjoy tab targeting. It’s a shame because WoW is on fire with their content since Dragonflight.
yes NW is dead, console players will not save game AGS spit on existing player base they dug grave for themselves and NW. AGS plan now is to milk as much money as possible from players before they close the game, obvious NW is just test platform for LOTR mmo. We were tricked since 2021, AGS had plan to do with NW from the beginning. F... AGS zero trust, rip upcoming LOTR mmo...

There is nothing in sight that is going to bring players back to the game. Even the pvp zone and 10 man trial is not going to be enough for most players that want to play but are waiting for a reason to come back.

Had no idea about the Romania studio. That makes a lot of sense. My prediction is console sales will be meh/decent but not enough to support the game long term. They move the studio over and it gets put in maintenance mode. I can't imagine Amazon has been making very much money from New World for quite a while. Most of their sales I would imagine came from the original launch of the game.

They lied from the start
They can do console launch and new content and even be brilliant but till they fix desync issues it will not help much. While desync is this big an issue rankings will be useless, ranged weapons will never get balanced right and players will remain frustrated.
PC was early access for console players. I will never NEVER trust Amazon Games. Amazon Games will not provide long-term support, will cancel, and will use PC gamers for consoles. Now I will play again because I am addicted for gaming, but I will choose to be a nomad. Looking for the gaming communities that I continue to play with over the decades.
It was over a few years back when they made it PvP preferred.
I was beyond hyped for New World and waited, impatiently, for it to release. I loved it through the launch and through the first year, waiting and knowing how good it could be, I gave the devs plenty of good faith. But my gosh dude they completely blew through it quickly after that and it just blows to see where the game has been since then. I love New World and it could be such an incredible game if they would just DO SHIT WITH IT. Like sometimes I get on and wonder how they even got it finished in any reasonable timeframe with how slow and horrible the updates are, it honestly doesn't even feel like the same team is who made it is who works on it anymore.
New Worlds fan base has been ridiculously patient with AGS. I came back for the expansion and a couple days later as a casual I had already reached max level and had done the things that were there for me. That expansion was terrible imo, especially for a paid expansion, yet people hung in there and kept waiting and waiting (as they had for years) for them to fix all the issues. I hate seeing it, as a concept it could be an amazing game in the right hands but AGS does not seem to really give much of a shit about the community
Hands off AGS in the future. The only way to "pay back" what they did to New World fans.
There are over 1 mio Pc-Players out there with a copy of New World and there is a reason why they quit and dont feel it is worth to come back. Console players will come and we will see the same player dropp because under the hood nothing changed. During the past years we also see that AGS learned nothing and this will continue. I still play and love this game but hope things getting better is zero. Take NW as it is and expect nothing. Good job Jay and thanks for your work to keep this game alive.
I paid for the game, I enjoyed many hours, and then I moved on. I may even come back if they launch fresh start servers since I managed to not burn myself out on it. I think we all expect too much.
It's time to tell AGS to listen to the PC gamers now, or we WILL do our own marketing campaign to DESTROY the game for the Console Launch.

Console would be good if the game was already in good standing. This is literally what Tera did with Xbox and that game only has like 5 daily players left. They're literally driving the game to its death.

The problem IMO is that they felt the only way to fix the game was to just release on console. If people don't want to play on PC why would you think people will want to play on console? IMO this sounds like a cash grab before it gets put on life support

Agree, expectation on PC community destroyed. IMHO, the Console release a right direction for AGS to earn money, They will sell it to provide 40-100 hours of great experience. Up to 200 hours NW is great! Main issue AGS must concentrate on fixing BUGS, otherwise Console players will kill the game by refunds. I'm 100% sure, the current dev team will work on LordOfRing game... NW development(or pure support) will be moved to Romania for maintenance... You should not expect new features during this time, the knowledge transfer is not easy... in case, they get "high rotation" (leaving company) in Romania -> even more time will be required.
I personally think this was the best decision: to aim 100% at the massive potential new players on console, and presenting it without the history. Also the switch to soloing is smart, as studies show that the mahjority of MMO players play mainly solo. I have often jumped in and out of NW, and this is the first time I feel enthousiastic about it.
They could literally just add Daggers and PC players would *glug glug* AGS.
They didnt even thank the PC players for doing their job and beta testing their console game. Just threw everyone under the bus and gave themselves a pat on the back.

People really need to start standing up against this bullshit. Otherwise it's just going to continue and continue and continue.
If console is a big success, the whole game benefits from more support. So hopefully they somehow manage to find an audience. Seems unlikely though.
As a BDO console player, let me tell you that console will get treated just as poorly as PC if not worse. They will finally be able to reallocate the people responsible for making the console version.
AGS should have planned to make it crossplatform out the gate if that was the plan. Both console/PC players are going to suffer from the split development efforts.
Instead of overhauling the game (like FFXIV ARR) they figured they could get an "easier" cash infusion by releasing on console.
Had the potential to be the best mmo ever but rinsed by greed and no direction. The whole game has been one big mess
I quit right before the expac and im actually cautiously optimistic. If the game dropped with the current content it would have done a lot better retention wise, so i think console release will do well. I also want to check out the pvp island, reminds me of rs wilderness. It also makes sense why theyve focused entirely on console marketing, its potentially a lot of players while the pc is definitively not
Issue is not console but that NW devs prefer to focus on content that can be forgotten in a week or two every 4-6 months. There is no end-game content and they have already received suggestions but decided for a short-term content that it hurt new players because no one wants to sit again for 100 times to get an artifact from a max lv elite mob.
I don't think many of us on console were clamoring for a new world release ... Don't know that they're going to get the massive surge in popularity they expect. I remember when the game came out. It didn't interest me then it doesn't really interest me that much now. The fact that it's available on console where I play most of my games doesn't really change that much ... But who knows I might be completely wrong.
In general, a cross-play PVP game doesn't strike my fancy as a console player. Why the hell would I want to be at a disadvantage?
There's a reason why ESO is not cross play between PC and console. There's a reason why so many games that have cross play allow for disabling that feature within console.

That game finally just got to grindy to me. Not enough nodes and they never fully got rid of the Bots. The PvP wasn’t bad though. I thought the artifacts were kinda stupid as well.
The attitude of the current PC community will be that of the console community this time next year.
They should add stratagems with air strikes, cross with marvel skins and add PTW battle pass rewards and the will transform into their final form.
Crossplay is prob the most lucrative thing in gaming if we talk about money, but it have almsot cause alot of problems like bugs&glitch content problems with server stabilty i go on and talk about it for prob an hour pro/cons but nvm, seems like new world is the last game that should go this way with it´s history of 10k bugs and glitches/exploits/cheating/dupping :). I am a big fan of not only games like this mmo/rpg am fps player at hearth br games is my love to not only mmo/rpg but my exp when crossplay first enter the market the cheating sky rocking with toxic kids and more ore less bad games with mem leaks from hell. That's my honest that and exp about the subject and tnx for keep uploading nw content/news you´r a shamp togather with duke.
i gotta say if a mmo DC Universe Online can be live for 15 years with 700 to 1500 players, am sure new world can survive with 5000 to 7000 players.
i think they just need to focus on new raids and new areas, and put actual gear drops for players in end game that do lower raids.
and i think the console will bring more players to new world.

It's frustrating to see Amazon Game Studios treating loyal PC gamers like this. But from a business standpoint, it seems they made the announcement before Summer Game Fest to build hype among pc gamers. They couldn't focus on adding more content as they were busy fixing the game for console release. This should reassure PC gamers that future investments from console gamers will allow for more content development, as the focus shifts from fixing the game to expanding its features.

Someone dropped the ball over there at ags. The people that were loyal were the pc gamers. Also the horrible communication. Should be addressed this wasn't a announcement for the current players it was for new players.
After 1800 hours in the game, since the June 5.2.0 update, it hard crashes, freezes my whole PC after a minute in game. Have to power off. RTX 20270 8GB / i7. Tried reinstalling, latest drivers, clearing shader caches, at all video settings to low.
That's weird. It working well on my Asus ally at medium settings 25w and on my PC 2060s/16g ram/AMD 3600x

New World and Amazon have not supported Korean or Korean servers for years.
In the end, 99% of Korean users who were tired of this situation had to leave New World

The devs are so damn slow and dont listen to the players, the slow development and lack of content along with the many bugs has destroyed the fun of the game.
I can't see New World being popular for console players, especially with all the recent negative feedback. People are going to see how badly mismanaged the game was on PC and look for something else.
Despite all of its short falls, I loved Funcom's Secret World. New World reminded me a lot of Secret World. For awhile I was convinced Amazon must have used Secret World ideas and simplified them. Secret World had many flaws but I thought it was superior in imagination, puzzles and story. Secret World relaunched itself in 2017 as Secret World Legends. I did the update, logged into Secret World Legends. It was clunky. They made the combat into action - combat. The magic was gone. I worry this is what will happen when New World "Aeternum" launches.
I feel ya, TSW has been an incredible game (with many small flaws) but SWL was just a hollow P2W husk of it ...

This really is lackluster, too little too late offering obviously designed to capture a new audience, whith no respect for the patience existing players have given them. I stopped playing a while ago but even I was a little excited to see what they might have coming, but I'm just apethetic at this point, it's not even fun to see them fail anymore.

From needs to make Souls the MMO where theres an online version onto the main game could be done with elden ring where bosses respawn that would be better than new world.
From a console launch stand point there will be a lot of content. Because the pc players have been playing it for years getting it ready.
TBH... Ags should give the expansion for free to all pc players who don't have it.

the new story is the story changes we have seen already, we already had a raid with the worm that people did for 2 weeks, the game is done for, they spent the last year working on console and getting the story updated for it, not much more content to come, those thinking there is more, hows the copium treating you??
It will take AGS 6 months to clean up the console bugs. During this time, the lack of end game content will cause most of the console players to leave. Most of the PC users will already be long gone. And you wonder, how hard would it have been to have new bgs (OPR for years is so boring), arenas other than 3v3, make wars more accessible (a bg modeled after a war?), etc. Who asked for a free for all PvP zone? Well, AGS thinks that’s what PC players wanted so let’s just see if they were right.
So new world knew they had a bad launch and did not do much about it and PC players are mad about it. Now that new world wants to re brand themselves cause they knew they fucked up and give console players something new to try and PC players are still mad cause they want to have another chance?
I dnt care about expeditions or pvp. I just want more event bosses. There's too much time between open world events 😢 Wish they were rolling every week...
