Nobody cares about the cup but yall stupid ass fans doesn't mean anything at all get over it yall some of the dumbest fans in the nba yall believe anything
I know the title is meant to be clickbait and Kenny goes into a lot more detail in the video, but I really wonder how much it changes about how we viewed things before. It seems like the NBA Cup favors experienced and older teams that aren't exposed to the wear and tear of the season just yet. We saw it last year with the Lakers and now with the Bucks. I think we already knew over the last couple weeks that the Bucks were figuring things out, but the important thing is what they'll look like come playoff time, which we already knew. It also has served as a showcase for the Thunder, just like the Pacers last year, to likely get just a bit more big game experience and go on a big run come playoff time. The Pacers ended up in the ECF which was way above expectation, and given that the Thunder already had immense expectations coming into the season it's likely to push them up even further in my opinion. The game was at least great to watch, especially in the first half, really happy to see this matchup. I wonder if the champs from three years ago are just destined to win every one of these, it's Denver's time next year!
The ethos of NBA basketball during my youth: "live by the three, die by the three". One of the teams will realize soon that constant slashing to the basket leads to way easier buckets than launching 3's.
If we’re doing head to head mvp matchups check out Giannis’s stats vs the other top mvp candidates last season. Giannis shows up in big games in a way people don’t notice because only bucks fans like myself watch the bucks
As a Bucks fan who has watched most games this season, here are some thoughts: (1) Doc Rivers hired Greg Buckner, the architect of Cavs defense over the past few seasons, to be "defensive coordinator," (2) the Bucks are old and play well on rest, but are going to struggle on back-to-backs, (3) they consistently make halftime adjustments on defense and don't often show their hand in the first half.
This game wouldn't have mattered if it wasn't for the way they won it. Nearly holding the thunder to under 80, winning by 16, Giannis dominating, all told the doubters that this team is for real and everyone else has some catching up to do.
Yeah. SGA is one player that isn’t a shot checker but this game frustrated him. Also they had the least steals in their game. And those 3s was just the nail. Only Jokic can have a triple double against this defense
Thoughts on this idea? The NBA Cup incentive should be (asides from money and trophy) the winning team can move up 1 seed from their position at the end of regular season. If the Cup winning team finishes as the #1 seed anyway, then they are guaranteed home court in the Finals over the other Conference’s #1. And perhaps, if the Cup winning team will finish with Finals home court advantage anyway, then maybe they get a Bye win on the first playoffs game so they start the first series with automatic 1-0 record. This way the incentive affects all teams and all players and not just money that means more to bench players than superstars. Also, this Position Seeding prize effects something further down the road so teams still have to fight for the “chance” while integrating the drama of the whole season and not just a known fixed thing like walking away with some cash and call it a day.
I like it except for the guaranteed win if they have finals advantage thats bs you gotta earn a win. But yes this would incentivise teams to try harder in the NBA cup without being unfair to how teams played the whole season
Jokic is so much better statistically than anyone else this year. I mean it’s ridiculous and I know stats aren’t the only thing, but if you are SO far ahead statistically and making history then I think he deserves it. Only way he loses it is if he gets injured.
The thunder are a great team they are #1 defensively....but they need more shooters. ..they remind me of the derrick rose chicago bulls teams from early 2010s who was the best defensively but lacked shooting
That's what we've been saying. NBA teams should have plan B and C if 3's are not dropping. There will be a night that it won't just drop. This is the reason some veterans are not happy the way we turn NBA to 3-point contest.
"Bucks haven't played good teams" "Bucks haven't proved themselves" Bucks just played a playoff team, the #1 seed in the West and the #1 defense and Milwaukee curb stomps them
@@JoshSportsMoviesA team that still lacks another big man and had a bad shooting night internally. Bucks did well offensively and defensively fair but look at the bucks the last 2 years. Gary Trent and Brooke aren’t hitting 3s like that every game and they have Doc and Giannis come playoff time.
In Europe when you win a cup competition you not only win some money, but you also get guaranteed spot for the European competition, which is kinda like the playoffs in the NBA. I think if it gave the winning team the at least of the the play-in spaces or the 6th seed it would be more valuable. Of course they would only get that spot if they finished the regular season below that spot.
Holding a team under 100 points, even when your own team is consistently missing good shots and struggling to set its defense, highlights just how strong OKC’s defense is. That said, OKC’s offense hasn’t quite reached the level it was at last season, when they ranked top 5 in offensive efficiency and led the league in 3-point shooting percentage. Once the Thunder find their rhythm offensively, this team has the potential to be truly dangerous-and that improved offense could elevate their already stellar defense to an even higher level, which is a frightening prospect for the rest of the league.

One serious issue is that the NBA has multiple historical awards and the NBA Cup will need multiple years before that starts to kick in at all, I think making the groups Divisions would help by establishing real rivalries, plus just slowly promoting the cup more will help, also yes I feel as though the NBA Cup should matter for the MVP voting, although not too much, it’s just something that should be considered as like a tie breaker, if late into the season your tied between Giannis and Jokic then a real deciding factor could be the NBA Cup as it’s slowly becoming more and more of a thing, it’s not a playoff environment, but it is like about one third of one, which is more than most regular season games
I think these first two years legitimizes the NBA Cup a lot in the public eye compared to the perception if some random team like the Pacers or Hawks won it. In both cases it was a recent champion led by an all-time great. (Tbf if OKC won this and won a ring in the next 2-3 years it would've been too). I think soon it'll be accepted like the FA Cup is in soccer. 15 years from now people will count those just the same
I feel like giving the team that wins the cup automatic home court advantage in the finals would be a good way to keep it enticing. Not the league that wins it, but the team.
I promise you in 20 years- 50 years, , when it comes to player legacies, these cup wins will mean a lot to these players. It’s not a Chip but it is THE next best thing besides individual awards. Congratulations Bucks!
All I can think about is the Centel tweet. “Doc Rivers has decided to take coaching seriously” and they went on 12-3 or smth streak after being bottom of the conference.
The cup doesn't matter at all to me... It's just regular games in the regular season same as always... You change the color of the floor and all of a sudden those games have "more meaning" not to me... The only people who might care somewhat are the players who can make a little extra money and if we are being coherent the team that wins probably has a lot of talent and those talented players MOST, if not all, make so much money that the extra incentive doesn't even make a difference to them. Just how I feel about it

-OKC needs to find away to guard 4’s, Giannis was doing whatever he wants all game and OKC didn’t have a single player to throw at him that could effectively guard him (Chet wouldn’t have been able to guard him either just due to the size difference).
Okc has a way, there’s just only one big not injured out of 3.
Give Doc his flower. Doc is the only hof coach to win both nba in season final and nba final championship as a coach in history 😂
Nobody cares about the cup but yall stupid ass fans doesn't mean anything at all get over it yall some of the dumbest fans in the nba yall believe anything
Im ngl holding the OKC to 81 points is insane
A lot was Okc holding themselves tbf
Great video. Great takes. Wish the people on espn watched and talked about the games like you
Giannis is an in shape Shaq with a few guard skills
‘Darry Bird’ 😂😂😂 5:49
@KennyFR happy you're still doing the short videos. the streams are too long for me, but thank you for doing your thing 🙏
Finally a bucks video from my favorite nba youtuber
Teams actually play D in the later rounds of the NBA cup
Fun to watch Giannis dominate. Really enjoyed the first two years of this tournament.
Got the notification for this right after the game ended
But I was told by everyone that the East is weak.
Giannis versus second string Center isn’t anything to draw conclusions from
Thoughts on this idea?
I think Giannis is already ahead of SGA in the MVP ladder. I’m gonna wait until they play the Nuggets. Jokic is the one to beat in the MVP race.
Jokic is so much better statistically than anyone else this year. I mean it’s ridiculous and I know stats aren’t the only thing, but if you are SO far ahead statistically and making history then I think he deserves it. Only way he loses it is if he gets injured.
Now I want the media to talk about shai how they talk about luka
Your video was my top recommended and completely spoiled the winner for me. 😭
You kept my attention the whole video! ❤ great job!
morning streams have been fire!!
How long does Doc Rivers get to coast off this championship?
The thunder are a great team they are #1 defensively....but they need more shooters. ..they remind me of the derrick rose chicago bulls teams from early 2010s who was the best defensively but lacked shooting
thunder looked tired, and just couldnt buy a 3
That's what we've been saying. NBA teams should have plan B and C if 3's are not dropping. There will be a night that it won't just drop. This is the reason some veterans are not happy the way we turn NBA to 3-point contest.
I have theory that because we play so hard on defense we may not have our legs under us on offense to make shots. Maybe that was the case this game
It don’t change shit 😭🙏🏼 but they going crazy
"Bucks haven't played good teams" "Bucks haven't proved themselves" Bucks just played a playoff team, the #1 seed in the West and the #1 defense and Milwaukee curb stomps them
@@JoshSportsMoviesA team that still lacks another big man and had a bad shooting night internally. Bucks did well offensively and defensively fair but look at the bucks the last 2 years. Gary Trent and Brooke aren’t hitting 3s like that every game and they have Doc and Giannis come playoff time.
Okc was so sorry this game
Color me skeptical, but I'm not super impressed by a 3 game win streak in early December.
YESSIR DAME TIME STAY ON THAT SIDE #FEARTHEDEER
Wow this was fast😂
Darwin ham saw all them allegations about being a shitty coach and took em literally. Absolute turn around man
He’s an assistant coach tho
@ he’s definitely the primary reason for their success and gameplan Though not doc
He took it personally
Darvin Ham in NBA playoffs: 🧑🏾🦯
Darvin HamBoning in NBA Cups: 🐐
Liam Robbin’s gets his house in Iowa! Go Bucks!!!!
Once the Thunder find their rhythm offensively, this team has the potential to be truly dangerous-and that improved offense could elevate their already stellar defense to an even higher level, which is a frightening prospect for the rest of the league.
can’t have shit as an okc fan man FUCK. THE MOMENT WE START TO GET RECOGNITION FOR A GOOD TEAM THE NBA GODS COME FOR US AGAIN. WHAT WAS OUR SIN. WE GET SOME FLOW AND ALL OF A SUDDEN DOC COACHES A MASTERPIECE 20PT DUB FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE THE 08 CELTICS BRO WHAT
No Giannis is just better than the entire Thunder team😂
@ not even trippin with gianni’s performance thats a problem no matter what. but i watched gary trent and green put daggers on us like it was nothing man. i expected a giannis problem but what the fuck aj green. shit felt like being a lakers fan
Bro shai is in the running for MVP, yall get plenty of recognition 😭
it’s okay bro, Chet isn’t even back yet
@@teoxoe can’t even scream lu dort for dpoy anymore. chet can’t heal that 😭
They went hard at them dudes. Salute
They only won because Doc Rivers couldn't blow any 3-1 leads 🤦
Let this sink in that Darvin Ham & Taurean Prince are the only ones undefeated in the NBA Cup
The cup final game should add one more win to a team’s record. Would be a lot more competitive then.
@ hard to judge the first year because I don’t think many teams took it serious but the lakers and pacers.
No it doesn't
I think these first two years legitimizes the NBA Cup a lot in the public eye compared to the perception if some random team like the Pacers or Hawks won it. In both cases it was a recent champion led by an all-time great. (Tbf if OKC won this and won a ring in the next 2-3 years it would've been too). I think soon it'll be accepted like the FA Cup is in soccer. 15 years from now people will count those just the same
Either that or its gonna be like the efl cup where no one cared about it unless your the team that wins it
Lmao NBA Cup literally doesn't matter.
one take king
Kenny had to throw on the chill guy sweatshirt for Darvin Ham 🔥🔥🔥
I feel like giving the team that wins the cup automatic home court advantage in the finals would be a good way to keep it enticing. Not the league that wins it, but the team.
I promise you in 20 years- 50 years, , when it comes to player legacies, these cup wins will mean a lot to these players. It’s not a Chip but it is THE next best thing besides individual awards. Congratulations Bucks!
Bro teammates shot like 2-20 from three..not hard to guard Shai with lopez n giannis behind
All I can think about is the Centel tweet. “Doc Rivers has decided to take coaching seriously” and they went on 12-3 or smth streak after being bottom of the conference.
Damn!500 k❤! GO BUCKS
Marjon Beauchamp should go to Chicago if Milwaukee won’t play him!
Just how I feel about it
Last night was a 25ish percent raise for AJ and Ajax.
I want the doubters to be as a loud now at 2 and 8 us real bucks fan still had faith this tourney is gonna give us so much momentum we looked amazing on defense tonight giannis and dame are the best duo in the nba people really said the jrue trade was bad 😂
Ok calm down this can easily go bad we seen teams have hot starts especially in season tournaments lakers last year not saying the bucks will I been a bucks defender but we have to see how it plays out in the playoffs
Bucks still a second round exit at best
There’s just no way you think jokic is still the mvp after tonight, no way man
Hall of fame dame! 🙌🏼🙏🏀 💍
NBA cup from now on will show what organizations dominate the 1st half of the regular season
Yeah Giannis is a freak if bucks finish as a T5 seed that MVP is all his
Porzingis hasnt played one game vs milwakee yet and boston 3-0 them. Also no excuse but chet was out and he will be a huge part of they team far more impactful than current middelton. Bucks are simply last years lakers. 2 stars trying to carry with a mid roster and a coach with a shit track record and will eventually fall in rd 1 or 2. They also have darvin ham 😂 the parallels is funny
If Basketball history has taught me anything, it’s that December don’t mean Ish. Love the Bucks, but I don’t know if they’ve solved any of their defensive problems big picture. I just don’t know if the Bucks could beat OKC 4 times in a row. Maybe, but we’ll see.
If both met in the NBA finals, OKC is taking only one game
Dairy Bird mentioned!
came here after the morning stream
nice to see Dame winning something
