Actually, there were three beings spared in the snap. Tony was spared because Thanos agreed with Doctor Strange to spare his life in exchange for the time stone. Ant-Man was spared because he was in the quantum realm, and thus outside of the physical macro universe that could be affected by the snap. And Thanos was spared because he knew he had to survive to destroy the infinity stones.

If Tony finds out the truth (which he would) he would probably try to convince Ross to let them go or do it himself seeing that Cap was telling the truth. Then they would all go to Moscow to meet Zemo, this time with more people. This means that when Tony gets shown the video of his parents being killed by Bucky there will be more people to help put him down so there wouldn't be much of a struggle on Cap's side since Tony is severely outnumbered. The only real differences at the end would be, Scott and Clint may get harsher sentences along with Tony if Ross found out what he did and maybe more people would go to Wakanda.
Honestly, he would've accepted his fate. His goal was to "help" the universe by dusting half of all life, I don't think it matters to him which people got dusted.
I agree it might of only been around an extra 30 minutes of the film if something like this happened or a hour extra but a lot of the plot would be cut for sure.
It was always curious to me that the snap occurred AFTER Thanos had left, meaning if he was one of the first people to be dusted away from his own snap then the gauntlet would be completely lost in the galaxy. Kinda seemed like he did that as insurance just incase that if he was chosen, then they wouldn’t be able to find the stones since there’d be no trace or ‘energy signatures’ to follow.
Well maybe but it also could have been a coincidence sense when he snapped he wanted the stones to decide who lives dies not him or the gauntlet but the stones themselves.
It would have reinforced Thanos’ Ideology, to put himself up for dusting that shows he truest believes no matter whom it is that gets dusted the balance is all that matters

What if Gamora was able to be revived with the Soul Stone in Infinity War. Because if something is not done to help Peter Quill in bringing back the original self of Gamora, it could put Peter Quill on the brink of wanting to retire from the Guardians of the Galaxy after when he decides that his world would mean nothing without Gamora.

Personally I believe thanos being dusted would’ve been a better plot point than what actually happened in the movie, but rather than attempt to change it or not understanding it he would accept it as the final cost of his dream. Additionally I think the infinity gauntlet would be dusted along with Thanos, all things on the people that dusted, dusted with them. This would pretty much follow endgame afterwards since thanos and the stones are both gone.
Thanos wasn't just lucky, he was exempt. Thanos could choose people to specifically be exempt from the snap. he mostly let the universe decide to be free of bias and passion but he and iron man were definitely exempt given that he would obviously exempt himself out of egotism to be around to see the sun set on a greatful universe and exempt iron man because he promised Dr. Strange and as bad as he is, he honors his promises.

I actually would have loved to see this over the original endgame we saw for several reasons. For one, scarlet witch would have had her reunion battle with the original thanos that killed vision. Thor could have lost his arm, replacing it with one from the destroyer armour like in the comics. It could have given captain marvel more to do and made her feel like part of a plan and the team, not just the saviour at the end of the movie. It would have shown a flaw in thanos’ plan and that development would have been interesting to see with his character.

I actually would have loved to see this over the original endgame we saw for several reasons.
For one, scarlet witch would have had her reunion battle with the original thanos that killed vision.
Thor could have lost his arm, replacing it with one from the destroyer armour like in the comics.
It could have given captain marvel more to do and made her feel like part of a plan and the team, not just the saviour at the end of the movie.
It would have shown a flaw in thanos’ plan and that development would have been interesting to see with his character.
