    Man you saved me today, and I thank you. I ran my 2001 golf out of gas and was stuck where people were smoking meth and fentonal leaning up against 7-11 in groups of 10 ,15 people at a time. Your method made it so easy (once I was brought a few tools) to follow and get me and my girl out of a bad situation. Thank you.

    Changed my nozzles and air got in, wouldn’t start. Saw this video and went and got the mityvac hand pump, primed it right up, followed your steps and it cranked , thank you man!

    Dude, thank you for making this video, my car has some starting issued and I wanted to track down every single option I think it might cause it not to start, next one is trying to see if there is air in the fuel lines. Keep up the good videos!

    One gentleman I watched had a pretty good tip of whenever you change the fuel filter he would take the vacuum pump you showed, hook it up to the fuel return line (the one just under the Mickey Mouse clip) and vacuum until diesel fuel started coming out. Makes sense as the vacuum will pull fuel into the fuel filter, through the pump and injectors, and then out the fuel line. Theoretically making sure the fuel pump doesn’t run dry.

    Do I need to do something so when I crank it , it doesn’t accidentally start it? I have two people so I can do it from within the car. I’m doing injectors and tune in a couple weeks

    • @HFG
      @HFG  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unless there's a specific reason you don't want it to start, you can bleed the injector lines while it's running. I don't think it has a clear flood mode, but I could be wrong.

  • @BenzDaimler
    @BenzDaimler 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I can't get my 1.9 TDI to start. I've done all the procedures and a lot of diesel is sprayed through the top of the injectors when I loosen them, however, the car cranks for a log time and doesn't start. It sometimes "coughs" like trying to start, but not frequently. Could the injectors be stuck?

    • @HFG
      @HFG  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Could be. Or the glow plugs maybe. It's hard to say. Spay a little ether in it, not a lot. It'll fire on that.

    What is the inline and outline diesel
    hose

    • @HFG
      @HFG  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The fuel inlet line is the one that I showed that comes from the filter. I don't know if there is a return or not. If there is it would be on the side of the injection pump. I'm not a diesel expert at all.

    Manual says "Water Separator: Drain Water" every 20k. I was looking for a video on that and found this. I assume that the bit at the bottom of the fuel filter is what they are talking about doing every 20K? or is it something else the manual refers to? thanks! and great video!

    • @HFG
      @HFG  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think that fuel filter valve is what they're talking about. I know for a fact that my dad never touched that thing for the life of the car and certainly not every 20k. I'm glad the video was helpful 👍🏼

    Good video.... But I'm not going out of my way to buy a modern VW the reliability and easy of maintenance has gone out the window... I had an 80 diesel rabbit and it was a tank of a little car....easy 45 mpg sometimes progress goes backwards😂.... I had a 98 jetta gas car and the ignition switch went bad and the car would lose power postive to coil in start in order to fix the whole dash would have to be removed... Ha! I by passed it and fed the coil it's start voltage 12v with a momentary switch under the dash.... An instant start and theft deterrent all in one!! You can't stop a mopar mechanic!

      Nice! Ya gotta do what ya gotta do when it comes to that stuff :) This has been a good little car but I wouldn't want to work on it all the time.

    You are wrong when you say that this yellow tube from the oil dipstick is held only by the engine cover.
    This tube should be seated on the metal dipstick tube coming out of the oil pan. To do this you need to dip the end of it about two inches deep into hot water from a kettle. Then this yellow plastic will become flexible and it will be possible to seat it on the metal tube from the oil pan. You will hear a rather loud CLICK!
    But before you push it onto this metal tube, you need to point it with a sharp protruding spear at the other end of this tube (where you push in the oil dipstick) perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the engine. Then it will fit perfectly into the hole in the engine cover.
    Greetings from Poland.

      @HFG  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EverythingIsBrokenGarage I hear they can make decent power. I kinda want to do one on a Jeep, but they're not the cheapest to find around here. Speaking of VW... time to do the brakes on it lol
