His face would light up and his voice get warm when he spoke of Jerry Lee starting rock and roll with Elvis. I always smiled inside when Jimmy would talk about them. He will tell you Jerry Lee was the master of the piano. All 3 of them never studied music in their lives, played by ear.

He got hooked on boogie-woogie while in New York with his father which he subsequently brought back to Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Jerry Lee Lewis would visit his older cousin and get him to show him things on the piano. McVoy recorded "You Are My Sunshine" at Sun Records and a number of other sides in 1957 and 1958, most which have remained unissued. He died at the age of 61 early in 1992.

Well actually if you work at in practice maybe you could play like him but man oh man like I said there's no way in hell that I would ever be able to play like him specific I broke my fingers once so they're not lined up very good to play now haha 😅 my fingers but he's one hell of damn good piano player he will always be remembered the best piano player.

The more you watch old Jerry Lee he has a legit argument for King of Rick n roll. I’m a huge Elvis fan but no denying Jerry Lee did the drugs + alcohol and played well beyond 42 years old, when Elvis died. Jerry Lee is still alive and occasionally can still belt one out in his 80’s.
