    After years hesitating, I've finally ordered a pipe bender. I'll be using your video for reference!

    Passovers can be frustrating. Lots of extra scrap in the bag mind you. We call them "trophys" when we mess a bend up. Putting 4,5,6 bends on one 3m pipe can be fun.

    I'll be honest, and not that I don't completely respect your work and the knowledge you're passing on mate, but I thought it would be way more technical than those thick, roughly-marked Sharpie points on the pipe, and using solder as an angle finder mate! haha I am now believing it may be possible for me to try this!

    Have you ever encounter a situation whereby you bend the copper and it broke?

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope because you use soft copper to bend. Normally copper will only break if it’s hard

    Hi, does anyone know how to bend flat copper pipes?
    I understand I'd have to stuff the flat copper pipes with, like, fine sand so that kinks won't form when bending. But is there a specific tool to bend flat copper pipes with?

    Whats your thoughts on using plastic pipes hep2o etc on central heating systems? It must he so much easier to install in an occupied house with furniture etc. I think there are regs stating no plastic pipework a minimum of 1m from the boiler but it might be different for different boilers.

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lee Monaghan hate plastic pipe needs scraping. Most boilers are 1 m away before you go to plastic but a few are 600mm. The reason for this is because the boiler could dry fire and melt the plastic pipe if you didn’t know. 👍🏻

    Could you show how you would bend a 90° bend say from the floor to a specific height to e.g. 1 meter to the gas cooker connecter or is as simple as measure 1m +150 for the bend

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the information in the 3 videos you should be able to do bends at any length you just need to put your measurements in instead of the 150 l hope that helps and thanks for watching cheers
