    Can’t believe when I thought I’d touch up on my offsets, I find a video from my tutor who taught it to me in the flesh 11 years ago. Thank you so much Paul, I hope you’re well & cheers for everything, from PSD to life skills to plumbing skills. Eternally grateful 🙏🏼

    Even though I can bend pipe accurately, I like to see how others do it too. This video is gold for beginners, to the point, short and well explained. 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿👍

    is it possible to do a 20mm offset bend? It all gets very difficult to fit it into the bender etc

    Hi Paul, Great explanation and demo... But.. This method works to find the center of the bend by placing the center of the cross where the guide and former touch and pull a 45 degree angle. But what if you pulled a 30 degree bend.? To place a mark in the center of the bend would require a sliding ruler protractor set to the required angle, placed on the top edge of the former touching at two points and the center of the bend would be where the sliding ruler changes direction. This would be nearer the stop if it was a 30 degree angle pulled. Could you do more pipe bending videos please maybe using a sliding rule protractor. The cranked passove, your method made it look easy! Thank you.

    • @PAULOatham
      @PAULOatham  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. It’s not the angle that is important, it’s the distance between the two points, I could pull the bend at a different angle but still would need to find centres

    On the second bend you say to insert the pipe until your mark has disappeared but photo you showed had the mark touching the former. Is the mark supposed to be visible or not?

      Hi Paul , just wanted to know the first cross mark on first bend, how do line up the marks with the guide ? The vertical line has to line up with where? I'm guessing the horizontal line lines up to the degree you are bending to?

    Na na na amigo pull your kick find a wall run it flush from the fist kick get the tape out against the wall, to the flipping mm go back 7.5mm. Bang there's yer center, boays aren't running about with scale rules these days, yer gain rapeedo speedo 🙌🏻 but here! Keep posting big guy your way of bending has been the closest to mine and I know people do it different but I could rant about how your handy bender should be treated like a sacred bond and when it sees you eyeballing a prime piece of copper 90° up it knows to let you see that incy mark dissappear then ye pull that beauty hold it up, like Alba winning the world Cup to witness a thing a rare beauty or if yer pulling a kick look down it it like a Swiss sniper and his scope till ye don't see yer mark then BANG. Ye jolt it next thing ye know yeve got the perfect flipping kick 👌 😉

      @@Bogtap I think it’s a bit ott to say it’s a poor method. The aim is to pull an accurate set and this method will give an accurate set. It’s not what I’d do, I’d leave the tube in the bender and slide it down to set the measurement and mark on the 22mm former underneath to pull to the same angle, but the end results the same. It’s different but definitely not poor.
