Great video Jess. I have a quick question if u can guide me. I am a dentist and doing my master in dental public health from Boston university U.S.A . I’m interested in working for W.H.O and was thinking of applying for internship. My question is that do they want u to do coding or different statistical analysis as being from a medical background this is not my strong side lol . So wanted to ask u as ur doing ur internship so u will have a better idea what will I be doing and what kind of internship should I apply or should I directly apply for job?. If u can guide me will appreciate a lot. Thank you.
Hiiii, I’m so sorry it took me so long to reply! I’m not from a medical background so I can confirm, however, statistical/ data analysis is very important. I would imagine coding is more so on the software developer side so probably not. Internships are great for experience and contact-building but if you’re a Masters student I would apply directly for a job💓
I'm studying bsc human development and next i plan to do masters of social work......then i plan to join un after my msw .....are msw course is good for entry in United nation pls tell me mam i'm so confused about my masters degree.😢
Hiiii, if you go to Careers.UN and search ‘Intern’ you will see all of the open internship opportunities across the UN network, so whether it be UNDP, UNCTAD, ECOSOC etc. In terms of who is applicable, it really depends on the opportunity, you definitely need to be enrolled in a University or a recent graduate, and each internship will have specific requirements. The main thing is to ensure that you can reside in the destination country, depending on the location of the internship. I hope that’s helpful, good luck🙏🏼
@@zeroth-zm9kc the course is 3 years it’s a bachelors, and the employment rate is decent, it really depends! Like the connections really help but for ‘fairness’ you still have to apply for a role like any other person if that makes sense!
The Human Rights Council is far more than just 'pretty flipping interesting.' Those interning or working at the UN should treat it as a serious responsibility, not just a cool experience or a resume booster. These are literally people's lives. It's also worth noting the irony of advocating for human rights while supporting fast fashion, an industry built on exploitation. If you're going to champion human rights, please make sure your actions reflect that commitment.
Hi, interning at the UN was one of the greatest experiences of my life, and I am extremely privileged to have had the opportunity. Attending this conference was heart-wrenching and a huge learning experience, but sometimes I treat this channel as if I’m speaking to my best-friend about a cool (very educational) experience, my intention was never to undermine the work that the UN and the Human Rights Council do - anybody who worked with me will know how seriously I took my role☺️ you’ll also note that I haven’t done a fast fashion haul for well over a year, specifically because I learnt from my experience but I appreciate your concern☺️
