  • Using a 8" X 10" Gelli plate to print some frosty deli paper. These prints will be used on my holiday card project. I used Liquitex and Artist Loft medium body paints as well as one shimmery Pebeo Dyna paint. Various stencils and masks were used as well. I explain my process.

    I've never done gelli printing and haven't seen anyone doing it for a while, but I love the effects you got with just a few colors. I especially liked you using the stamp roller. I've NEVER seen that done before. Gotta go watch the video with the actual cards. I'm sure they'll be jaw-dropping gorgeous.

    It’s August and never to early to think about XMas. I say this every year and still find myself scrambling December 15th. But with all that 2020 is throwing at us, I may just get my butt in gear. May 2021 be kinder! Love to you and all your followers.

      I agree with your statement. However, I can barely get moving at all...let alone plan the future holiday right now. I do fervently hope 2021 is a better year! Thanks for watching an older one Robin :)

      If you haven't gotten one, I REALLY reccomend the Spellbinders gel plate bundle for $49. 8.5x11 gel plate, smaller impressable plate with hearts, brayer, and reinkers that work well on the plate. I have no affiliation with Spellbinders. Mine came on December 27th, and I think I have made 14 cards with it. I am LOVING it!

      Yup...cardstock masks and stencils work well. And even better when they get a bit of dried acrylic on them :)

      That was a roller stamp I got from Stampin' Up! company. It was manufactured by Clearsnap for them. Your best bet would be to find it used on Ebay at this point. Here is a link tinyurl.com/2f3qddxs

    another day viewing this, for I have to make some prints. When my roller stamp arrives, will it be obvious where I need to trim It? If not, do you have any suggestions, as to the best way to trim the sides? I am surely looking forward to seeing all the 4×4" art cards coming your way. I have figured out 4 of the folks into the collaboration, just by watching youtube. Hope my snowflake wheel gets here soon, for I am ready to make backgrounds for my Christmas cards this year.

    • @ShelCPaperOcotilloStudio
      @ShelCPaperOcotilloStudio  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cheryl :) The way I figured out where to trim was that ink was getting on parts of the background rubber and then printing onto my paper...I could see the residual ink on the rubber and trimmed that part away using an exacto knife. You may not need to trim it at all...I do have a heavy hand and maybe I was just pressing it too hard. Have fun making those cards :)

    Shel, I have watched this video a few times now and have decided, this is what I will do for holiday cards this year. Do you know, where I can find the roller stamp you used? Amazon doesn't carry it. It certainly makes a nice addition on the Gelli prints. I love how you used the prints, on the cards in your Part 2 video, which have given me some great inspiration.

      Shel, I am sooo excited, for my hubby and I found one on eBay, and he bought it for me. I can't wait to start putting artful holiday cards together. Thank you again for helping me find one. I know, I will have not only a blast with it, I will use it for many years, and along the way, I will be thinking of you and your kindness, in helping me find the only one available. The shipping was a little spendy, but I give it " no never mind" because it will be mine before August is over. Thank you for finding it for me. It was such a thoughtful and kind gesture.You have no idea, just how special, you made me feel, by doing the work to.find it. You are my sweetheart on TH-cam!!!

    I love the look people get with layering using the gelli plates, yet I have not invested or tried it yet. Go figure! May e I just need to dive in instead of waiting for a reason or a project idea to scream “gelli plate prints”.

      Just metallic acrylic paints on the gel plate with thin paper. Using die cut shapes and stencils for pattern.
