@9:57 - the original Shockwave's back pack was the rear of the gun mode, and also the same color as the rest of him. The detachable barrel was silver and didn't connect at all in robot mode.
I'm amazed that your Netflix soundwave didn't discolor... There are a lot of reports of "Yellowing". Blue turns to green and gray turns to brown… I've had 4 of them do the same exact thing... Then again, there's quite a few on the tf22005 with the same problem.
Yeah the trick is to keep it away from heat, not necessarily light, but heat. And a lot of light can equate to heat, but even without a lot of light, if your place is humid and still generating heat, the color change will hit ya.
@@BotBenderOrinj Sounds like lousy plastic to me. Especially since all my models, Eaglemoss and Figmas have been here for years with no color changes. Even the most basic of plastics should tolerate California.
Yeah, defo cheap plastic. Theyre always experimenting on ways to cut cost. Which in itself isnt wrong, but they shoulda QC'd this new recipe to see it could withstand heat. I'm also in Cali.
There's a very tiny bump on the inside of the outer parts of the hip joints. Look right above the mushroom peg & you should see it. That's the bit that's bumping into the bottom of the inner hip part. I don't think it serves any other purpose, so sanding or cutting it out should be alright.
@@TechnicalJimActual Is it part of the molding process, like flash? Or just a nub? As a GunPla builder, these things are what stand out the most to my eye, but they're also unavoidable in mass-produced assembly line figures.

Dude!! So much mold degradation! Yikes!! So quick too... man... did they make these molds out of play-doh? Sheesh. Big shame... cause yea the paint looks quite nice. Yea, I'm kinda over this megs mold myself. Shockwave is definitely the shining star of colors on this set. Thanks for the comparison! It helps a lot!!!
It’s not so quick. The Megs mold is like 4 years old or something. But still, yeah no excuses, since the set is expensive and they’re limited stocks so ideally should’ve had better QC
Kinda lame with the Meg's legs, but he does have a couple positives. Soundwave might be warped, Soundwarp lol, but he does look friggin good. And same with Shockwave, lil different still a great mold!!
Yeah, I forgot how much they milked the mold lol. The paint deco tho... man it it is noice~~~ Shockwave is def my fav of the set. So happy that he shares Brunt's palette :)
@@BotBenderOrinj oh yeahhh he looks super fresh. Like the upcoming ER prime 3 pack (with teletran and jazz) I like the white additional paint/portions, I felt like it looks a little more like cartoon style
Semi related comment, I got this set as a gift. Im mainly a diorama or display person. But what on earth could i even do with this set 🤣 like at least if it was starscream instead of shockwave it could have made sense to be the boarding party before they attack the ark in episode 1. But like as is, i dunno decepticon fanfare i guess?
the dramatic capture set its worth Soundwave alone but with Soundwave (Netflix) getting a regular release in Legacy UNITED and Galactic Man Shockwave being more cheaper than Shockwave (got him for 35 myself) I think the set doesn't have enough to convice people with the other options being so close also, Siege Megs its better than Earthrise I gotta be honest
lol, I love how most of your critiques boil down to "Not as much better as I expected." No shade, but I feel like you already liked the originals too much to begin with to get new ones. Where else has an overabundance of love ever been an issue?
The videos lighting is all messed up :( looks overexposed to me
It's alright mon erreting lookin just fine 👌
looks good to me! : ) besides, better too bright than too dark.
This video just earned you a subscriber
My G, I appreciate it!
In other words: wait for Megatron 86, buy legacy united Soundwave, order Shockwave Comic Edition.
That sounds right. Altho, the Shockwave from this set has the best color imo.

I have no idea why they changed that on this version of Soundwave. I suspect that the upcoming Legacy United version will have the same remold fail.
Ah got it. Good eye. I dont care tooooo much, so I'll leave it be, but strange at how it differs from the previous mold

@HidaAtarasi I've seen pics of it & it doesn't look like it was a part of some sprue. It just looks like some tiny little bump in the plastic.
I wonder how long before these start yellowing like all the other recent Soundwaves, and Megatrons.
They’ve addressed the yellowing problem since Legacy wave 2 or something like that. This one is post that so they should be fine.
Have you thought about returning it and getting a hoping for a different case
Multi-verse Soundwave!
My Megatron from the Dramatic Capture Series doesn't have an issue with the legs.
Orly? That's good to hear. Glad it's not widespread :)

I think that issue with the legs on Soundwave is where the pins are placed. They are offset a little, and it makes them a little off.

Question, have you had problems with yellowing of the original Megatron and Soundwave molds?
I had the same problem with soundwave both legs. My Megatron's arm slide off. Shockwave is the only one that came perfect.
