my MCL cringed at this. im sure when executed properly by both tori and uke, it's safe. but i can also see some gnarly knee damage with full resistance and/or less than perfect technique.
I didnt understand that either Gaki is a reap Gari is a sweep if im understanding this right i think judo does not differentiate between gaki and gari?
I tend to stand with my lead side grabbing my opponent´s lapel but I assume we do this when stance is a little bit to the side ?
Thanks for sharing.
Kosoto Gari has always been my recipe for failure lol. Always get bear hugged and crushed 😢

Sometimes uke has to accept the fall and relax otherwise most gakes and tani otoshi would end with twisted knees.
As I understand it, this is not a ko-soto-gari but a ko-soto-gake, namely a hang. Example: th-cam.com/video/2PPomHBUv-M/w-d-xo.html
Yep! Fully correct
@Luciano we aren't but Travis is. Anyone who follows Judo will respect Mr. Stevens. You can fight over words, the technique is true.

What if in side to side fighting, opponent keeps stiff arm? Then I guess you can’t go in to bear hug him. Need opinion 🙏🏻
How did you get countered?
Great !!
Clean up your act Travis, you are doing a hook,Gake not Gari!
He does more of talking than showing move !
