It's easy to see, with episodes like this one, why Red Skelton was so loved by viewers for 20 years.

I love the singing sequence! Lovely ladies, love that seem on the hose! The 50s were a great time really! Beautiful song and dance. Red was the BEST!

It's so great, that the sound on this kinescope recording is excellent.

One of my FAVORITE EPISODES... 😂😂 not sure why. 😅 I love all the Martha Raye episodes but this one and the garage... 😂 "why don't you ride in the back seat like everyone else?"

As seen on Tuesdays at 9:30pm(et).
One of two CBS programs to be colorcast on a regular basis at the time {the other was Lowell Thomas' "HIGH ADVENTURE", an occasional series of special documentaries}. Only this black and white kinescope exists.

5:26 For those of you who can lip read, he mouthed "Son of a WHAT?? Oh, Bitch, yeah." This is an excellent black and white transfer from a color tape!! I have a copy of this from the early 1990's, and it is so blurry.

No tape involved. This was originally telecast *LIVE,* as Art Gilmore announced at the beginning. Red didn't start taping his show until later.

@@fromthesidelines It would have been TRANSFERED from the tape recording.

I think I know what the transfer was: this was "kinnied" from a West Coast videotape, as CBS was using videotape on a regular basis for "delayed telecast" purposes. While Red's show was seen "live" in the East and Midwest, it was recorded on tape and shown three hours later on the West Coast.
