@@BrendanExplores it certainly does what it needs to and enables you to get away from it all. Don't get me wrong a van is great and has many advantages over a car but the stealth of a car is awesome. As soon as someone sees a van they know someone's sleeping in it.
Nice work! I would cover the sides of the base with car carpet or something, just a thin strip folded over and stapled on. That way you won't scratch all the plastic trim inside your car.
@@BrendanExplores just watched your recent upload x 😂 to the smelly car cooking but absolute respect for getting out there mr and finding such wonderful places x life is far too short not to explore x
not in a rude way just as a suggestion i know from experience put a peace of old scrap wood behind hold it against the back where you are drilling through and it wont burst through or do what pee gee suggested go through just so the tip pokes through then go back the other way but really nice simple build love the use of space and the simplicity
I thought about that but I wanted some storage options under the bed and because I use the back seat to sit in I can easily transfer to that of I need headroom. Yes the grand scenic does benefit from being able to fold the front passenger seat flat but I didn't do that so I can use the seat as storage and it also acts as a makeshift headboard 🙂👍
Ha i knew someone would tell you how to drill a hole, Well you have inspired me!! I am going on a UK tour of the new towns and i think car camping could be a option and save me a heap of cash!!
🤣🤣 yeh I could of done with that advice about a week ago lol. Atleast I know for next time. I would definitely recommend it if you can make it comfortable 👍. It's a great way to get about without paying for hotels everynight. If I was going for a tour somewhere I would book a hotel every 3 nights to use a hot shower and power supply etc and rough it the rest but if you do a good job on the car camper you don't really have to rough it as such 🙂

Drill until points poking through then spin drill other side so it's neat no split out
Finally, someone more relatable! 😅 Another enthusiastic amateur here trying to fix up a teeny tiny car...
Nice one mate 😁 glad you enjoyed this video and best of luck with the car camper 👍
Always nice to see your Dad! 🙋🏼♀️
This works out great 😀 You all did great job..Awesome ! 🚗 You all make me laugh 😂
Thanks Sharon, we had a laugh and it's good to see the car camper developing 🙂👍
When's the pew going in?
@@AllThe_Gear 🤣🤣 sadly this car made its way to car heaven but I may get a pew for the van haha. Thanks for taking the time to comment guys 🙂
Place two hooks behind the front seats where the space in the roof is and attach a wire, place curtain over it.
Thanks for the suggestion 👍 I'll take a look 🙂
I used hooks easy to put a curtain up
Wow that's amazing man! Goo job 🙂
Cheers mate 👍 improvised but it works 😁
I like the nice simple design. I wish I'd have gone that route first before my van 👍
Cheers 👍 yeh it's nothing fancy but it does the job 🙂. I would love a van one day though!

@@Waynes_Travels that's very true, the main advantage of a car is stealth 👍

Cheers for the tip mate, I've since changed the layout inside 🙂 take a look at my recent videos and tell me what you think 👍
Good job, especially the shaped sides. If you had folded the bed over you could have drilled both sides at the same time, perhaps.
Thanks very much and yeh your right there are plenty of things we could of done better 🤣. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍
This is brilliant x love how simple this was but created a really cool and usable space x well done x
Thank you 🙂. Yes, super simple and easy to construct 👍. It works and does the job! 😁

Not rude at all 👍 I could do with all the DIY tips I can get 😂. I may well redesign at some point so will use that method. Glad you like my setup 🙂👍
Love your videos
Cheers buddy 🙂👍
When you took the seats out why not lower the bed for more headroom, also reclining the seat forward will give a bit more space

Sorry to be one of those people who only knows the colour of their car. What car is this please?
No need to apologise 🙂 it's a Renault grand scenic 👍
@@BrendanExplores thank you. I have a Citroen C1 and it’s definitely not the right car for a mini camper van. 😂
