You’re on the right track! There are a lot of amazing 80s artists but nobody comes close to Madonna. Her career is so expansive. Also when MJ and Prince were done making hits, Madonna made several more great albums. Nobody compares to her. And never will.

Thanks for this insight into how you discovered Madonna. It's always nice when people are open-minded and not prejudiced about older music just due to its age. If you enjoy MJ & Madonna's work in the 80s, I think you'll be interested to see how they evolved in the 90s too. Both were still very active & successful then. In fact, I would say Madonna's creative peak is in the late 90s, with albums like "Ray of Light".
Have you seen the "Truth or Dare" documentary (called "In Bed with Madonna" in some countries)? I thought you were referring to it at one point. It goes behind the scenes of her on the Blond Ambition tour, which was promoting the Like a Prayer album. It's also worth watching "I'm Going to Tell You a Secret" from 2004 if just for the contrast. This is her on the Reinvention Tour 14 years later, and it's quite different seeing her married with children as opposed to the young single woman in the first doc.

I think "Erotica" in all it's glory❤ is her most controversal video.
I think Erotica is controversial about Madonna's *** life. But Like A Prayer is controversial on a whole other level. Many religious, racial and controversial topics in that music video.

@@jovialjun6505 Like a Prayer is the one that really rubbed everyone the wrong way. It was a big risk in the prime of her career. Lucky for her it’s the crown jewel in her crown. The song is undeniably one of the best pop music songs. Probably top ten. I don’t even think a Michael Jackson or Prince song is as good as Prayer.
@@jovialjun6505 I think you're right there. "Erotica" is the one that is sexually explicit enough it wouldn't be able to even shown in many places, but "Like a Prayer" is the one with a really strong anti-racism message (black guy getting falsely accused by police of a rape perpetrated by white men)
