I've been holding option (I use mac), but the clip won't duplicate, it just drags the clip.

I’m not experienced on Mac. My best guess would be right clicking on the clip and finding duplicate or simply doing copy and paste of the clip in the timeline

I've tried both ways, but Resolve likes to offline any duplicate clips for a few frames each time I do it. It's gotta be a weird bug persistent across updates.

@@howtowithmatt it's been happening to me since 17. Just figured out that the bug is in the act of duplicating footage with a fresh timeline edit of an existing edit with problems. The fresh edit was fine until a single duplication, and then the offline media shows up, sometimes for only 1 frame at a time, so I have to scrub through and watch every single frame to find the one problematic one. It's maddening.

Would updated version of davinci resolve are you using ? You might be using a more updated version than I was in this video
