The Origins of SolidWorks? - Part 1

I discovered this video, which uses a LOT of the terminology of SolidWorks and 3D CAD that we use today.
In fact having worked for the SolidWorks Corporation, I recognise many terms mentioned here that are used now.
As the leading history based parametric 3D CAD and mechanical design software is based in Boston Massachusetts, and having myself trained there, I can only assume that the roots of the system are indeed in the work of Ivan Sutherlands "SketchPad" software.
I just love the way these guys talk about "computers of the future". However, I would like to design and build a crazy switcboard to control my 3D CAD system in my Product Design Consultancy based in South Yorkshire
