I've had my Gravely ZTHD48 for a few months and cannot believe it took me watching your video to realize that I could raise those wheels lol ! I mow the Bermuda at 1.75" and mine digs in several places. Thank you for the tip!
I like cutting at 3' too.. not too short but short enough.. but like you I have a couple of yards at 2.5 & 2.75.. great vid bro.. I like the old school vids.. good advice and keeping it real.. beauty mate.. ;)
Yard looks nice… what did you mean by finally starting the stripe good? Is there something you have to do to your lawn routinely do to achieve the stripes?
Good thoughts ! When you run that scalping wheel up high like that , and I do , you have to watch that it doesn't get so worn out that it lets your deck get to low. Change those wheels out now and then , they take a beating . NIce place you've got there ! Dang that is a pretty road you live on. Are you very far out of town ? I wouldn't live in town if they held a gun to my head ! LOL.
I was having the same issue with the wheel digging on turns. I adjusted to the top holes now I’m scalping more than usual. Did you have this same issue? Cutting mostly at 2.5” - 2.75”.
This is such a bad design. These wheels should be adjustable with at least 3 settings and a quick release pin. At least it does have some way of changing it, but very inconvenient.
Yea. I used to run it low low and get crazy deep stripes but I only run it a quarter inch below the rear of the deck. That way they stripes arent tooo dramatic. Thanks for watching.

Yard looks good. I have used a Gravely zt60 and they are great mowers.

Ill have to make some like the older ones.
Good advice most people don't think about this I know I didn't.
Great info man! I'm going to take a look at the SCAG and see if I can adjust them.
Stripes are looking good! Looks like you have some nice land!
Good to know mine started after shoot blocker was added when I make a turn gouging grass.
Thanks! We have the problem with it digging in when we turn!
Good tip. Thank you for sharing. Mike
Thanks for the video. I live in the country and have neighbors north of me that have four 24/7 barking dogs no longer peaceful can relate.

Not too far out. Just the right distance lol
I have the same mower I moved my up this year so much better
PS.You got a nice piece of land also no need to edit just let it go.

Cutting that low you have to lift deck when turning.
Good video I don't cut below 3 inches
I dont blame you. I hate to do it but I have a few customers that are good ones who like 2.75
even if you cut at 3 its nice to have them up a hole.
We replaced the wheels and the new ones are breaking
Do you adjust the middle wheels on the deck ?
Some mowers you can some you can't. If they have a lower setting I'd move them down or up with the sides.
@@SouthernStyleLawnCare yep mines do adjust in the middle wheels I’m going to adjust them to the same setting as you did on the side wheels thanks 😊
Do you fertilize? On my St. augustin I run lesco and a local called diamond fertilizer. What name brand are your weed eater engine covers
Dry Wraps. Tell them I sent ya. I use a local fert from a local company. Works well. Thanks for watching.
what type of turf are you cutting? i cut bermuda and zoysia with the deck on the ground. it rides on the anti scalp wheels.
looks like st. augustine. not sure i guess i commented too soon lol
All types. Most St Aug and a lot of mixes.
My two middle ones are stuck, did you have the same problem?
Nope
Southern Style Lawn Care maybe some lube and heat will do the trick you think?

Do you run stripe kit?

Must be nice to be rich......
Jeffrey dontyouwish I wouldn't say rich. I work hard for everything I have.
