It's not really possible to tell exactly what happened at the end here.
Usually those people who are around in the video know the full story and background.
However I can share a few interesting things that can help you. (obviously facts are limited by my knowledge).
It's true that there exist village gods protecting each village(true for communities, sects, particular dynasties too).
Thier power varies widely based on many things: how powerful they were when they were formed(get formed for various reasons), thier history, how well they were worshipped, etc.
Not all gods(we refer to them as gods but these are completely different from our Lords, Shiva, Vishnu etc ) are completely good, they often have some bad qualities too like too angry, too egotistic, too sensitive, etc.
Under certain circumstances (usually for some marked ceremonies, but not limited to that) they enter bodied of humans for various reasons, they just come and leave, they demand something, they set somethings in order, they solve problems others facing(that are in thier scope)
Overtime, sometimes more than one God get formed ( for various reasons) like this and they might get into the bodies of two different people separately at the same time and that's what has happened at the end of this video, I believe.
PS: Real village gods are rarely(not impossible) as powerful and spontaneous as displayed in kantara(obviously movies add a little spice).
It's not easy to handle gods. More powerful they are, usually more difficult to handle.

It is part of the 16 ritual to be followed during the Nema, possesing the person designated for dieties worship is one among them. Here the Diety is Banta. The energy is intense, there will be Teertha(holy water) which will b sprinkled on to calm the posession.

It's a play of spirits. Don't ask logical questions because you won't get answers for these things. It's spiritual in nature so only experience it. They have to go through several days of process including fasting and so on to prepare for this. Basically there are several spirits there entered human/physical body. They don't have any sense of body at that moment. So others are protecting them. Logically it won't make sense but it is question of belief, just like your relationship with God.
