If you like the atmosphere in Puppet Combo games I recommend you check out 0_abyssalSomewhere by nonoise. Really eerie atmosphere in a totally different way, one of my favorite games in the PSX-esque graphical style.
It's been almost 4 years and the Nun's jumpscare when she finds you is still one of the most panic inducing things ever. Puppet Combo really hit a home run with this one, still his scariest game imo.
Puppet Combo has to be my favorite indie horror dev. Consistently making strange, enjoyable, scary and thematic games. Love to keep watching you play and comment on all they put out!
Puppet Combo certainly does use the same aesthetics a bit too infrequently, but each of their games are pretty unique regardless. I guess you could think of it as their trademark, though? I mean, harking back to PS1-ish graphics is one thing, but they've essentially built their brand on that with a great dose of horror. I like the nostalgic vibes you inadvertently get from these games. I wouldn't even say it's intentional -- it's just really stylised graphics in a way. Also noteworthy is they 80's-90's horror tropes they call back to, but are careful not to overuse.
John is the only person I watch that just walks into a game as if there’s no danger lol. Every other gamer is so hesitant and die immediately and John is over here just casually walking around and somehow doesn’t run into the nun until later.
I know a lot of people call PC out for being "samey" or whatever but, honestly, I respect his consistency. You can tell he has a distinct love for 80s/90s horror; VHS effects, old slasher tropes, low-poly graphics, and a lack of political correctness. Kay Lourdes bruh, I’m in college and have a whole friggin month off. Winter classes maybe though?
Holy hell you reminded me to do my homework aaaaa thank you 😭😂
I really love how invested John gets in these games (when they're from Puppet Combo especially). It's great to see him enjoy a game, after so many disappointing cheap Steam games. xD Gotta say, I did laugh at how he yelled when he first saw the nun. :D
The never ending vent part and burying ourself was pretty much claustrophobic, I literally died thank you :')
What is the afterlife like?
RIP, I guess?
Fuckin creepy lol
Definitely think the inventory limit should’ve at least been 5. But great game!
every time you whip out that radar it's screeching so loud it pierces my brain
Holy hell that chase sound effect is over the top. Overall though it always cool to see John play another Puppet Combo game.
It gets annoying after a while
Puppet Combo is a g e n i u s. Every game has such an unnerving vibe
If you like the atmosphere in Puppet Combo games I recommend you check out 0_abyssalSomewhere by nonoise. Really eerie atmosphere in a totally different way, one of my favorite games in the PSX-esque graphical style.
I think John's bewilderment at the sight of the naked hob-goblin running around is one of the more entertaining things I've seen on a TH-cam channel
27:06 Highly reminiscent of the long hallway in spooky's house of jumpscares
“I was locked in punishment”
John: USE THE BATHROOM BEFORE CLASS!!!
Nun: nods in approval
Jesus Christ .That nun was horrifying
The boom of thunder directly after John finished saying “7 Offerings of Flesh to Christ” was perfectly timed.
Man, I thought he HAD played this game before. They all kind of seem the same now, not that it's a bad thing...
Naw it's okay to criticize puppetcombo. The aesthetic kinda gets old after so many games.
Well, if FNAF can make six of the same kind of games, I guess Puppet Combo can pull it off too.
Also if you watch Kravin too, he has played it.
Yeah but it’s still a good, scary game tbh
19:11 All of this little "stress scene" is so funny, haha, John's reaction and "hidE!" is just so funny
Lol I love that short "EUHh!" John makes when genuinely scared. Rare to see nowadays
Omg @ 27:40 I thought John said "Very nun satisfying" I'm crying
The barbed wire pit takes me back to watching Suspiria. I think that one takes place in ballet school.
5:49
John: "I got another rock".
Now you're really rockin', John.
I know it's lame. I just couldn't help myself.
Good day, everyone!
Nah I've heard way worse.... Well and also I kinda wanted to comment the same thing, but then I was like noooo I have to resist the temptation! ... 😅😂
@@zero_deluca7815 nothing wrong with giving into temptation once in a while... especially when it comes to being lame. 😉
Hey, I've got one: John used PSI Rockin'!
Hopefully somebody gets this.
a 50 minute video? is this my christmas present ❤️
Good news, John. Episode 3 of the Final Season of The Walking Dead is coming out on January 15th thanks to TWD team pairing up with Skybound Games.
Yep, excited to play it! Glad they pulled it off
It's always nice to see a game that actually gets John a little
This is the most scared I’ve seen John in YEARS. Seriously, Puppet Combo knows their shit
That vent "ending" hella reminded me of The Enigma of Amigara Fault by Junji Ito
18:46 At this point all his hopes for a safe haven in the vents were dashed.
"Stick your arm in, the bone will stop it" LOL
i actually laughed so hard at the first death like the little guy running at you screaming is golden
I know a lot of people call PC out for being "samey" or whatever but, honestly, I respect his consistency. You can tell he has a distinct love for 80s/90s horror; VHS effects, old slasher tropes, low-poly graphics, and a lack of political correctness. Having a consistent stylistic vibe doesn't have to be a bad thing; it shows his commitment to creating a certain type of game that we don't see often outside of his work.
For that, I thank him.
I agree. I really enjoy PC's games.
Yea, people who are Politically Correct are just annoying to deal with these days...
AlienWithABox his work is generally samey with only a few gems, I just want a lot more variety in the next game and if there isn’t then the devs spell has worn off
Who's "he"?
@@stayne2855 Puppet Combo, the developer. :)
John: *Gets in vent, thinking he's safe*
The Vent: I'm about to ruin this man's whole career
I love how John keeps his stern face only to break it for half a second of "surprised" yell.
Came from Coryxkenshin and stayed for the content, good videos man keep up the good work
obviously the best game publisher, their games are just pure goodness
I love it when enemies can crawl through the vents. It makes the game so much more terrifying!
Who's here just because Cory sent a video and put it in the description about different endings about this game
I saw this video before when Cory Kenshin didn't finish, but now coming back again because he shouted it out
I find clueless but dangerous monsters scarier than most other horror enemies.
There are very few moments a game can scare John so let's take a moment to celebrate this game
Parent of year award goes to ....
27:09
Made me have a laugh attack with the little puppet/doll. My mother and friend and father were also having laugh attacks with the doll/puppet
I got scared
John Wolfe the Ultimate TH-camr. Thanks for the upload.
I'm so glad somebody took the time to finish this game! I couldn't find a TH-camrs that has.
This video was so tense I had to take a break near the end. As always amazed by your ability to navigate maps with a zillion hallways and rooms!
27:13 That is the worst thing that could ever happen, I feel. To be stuck, forever, in a crushed or confined space? No movement, no help, and no one can even hear you scream? I get anxious just watching/thinking about anything like that; in real life or not.
I think that it was a spirit coming to end the woman's suffering.
Yasss! Love puppet combo's games! Ty for playing this John
Yeah me too
Great Video.
It's Been 2 Years Since I Saw An Actually Scary Game Like This One. Even John Was Scared While He is Playing.
Puppet combo makes some of the scariest if not scariest games every
Time after John gets chased I feel panicked
Thanks for introducing me to their patreon, I didn’t know this developer had one. Been on a retro slasher indie game binge since joining.
Hey John hope you had a nice Christmas!
Who *never* has a nice Christmas!
Everyone should be happy, even if their dad dressed up as Santa and died going down in the chimney and was found dead 5 days after Christmas.
@@Andeloine_is_not_a_communist What if you don't celebrate Christmas?
Send them to cannibal camps in Papa New Guinea.
@@Andeloine_is_not_a_communist XD
@@Andeloine_is_not_a_communist i like your style dude lol
Hey, good to see you here. From Cory's video, right? I know. Just enjoy Johns video and thank Cory for bringing you here
Coryxkenshin sent us Mr wolf
the apreciable thing about john is , he stays real ,
and he eats all the jump scares ,
and a honest critic
Damn John is it Halloween cause u lookin' like a bag o' snacks
XD
Do you need some water? You sound awfully thirsty!
@@eaglefan2569 not thirsty, hungry and in need of a snack
I forgot about that fucking noise when the nun chases you. It's effective. I hate it.
Who’s here from Cory? Feeling kinda lonely where’s the samurai at
