How to Convert High Definition Video for DVD Output

- So many of us are shooting in 720p, 1080p, or even 4K now. What do you do when a person asks for a DVD of your video to put in an old standard 480p DVD player. Seems like this still comes up a lot for me because there are still many people who haven't switched to bluray. This tutorial shows how I output for DVD from Adobe Premiere Pro CC 4014. The follow up to this video will show how to take the resultant converted file into Adobe Encore DVD and then create a DVD with menus and chapter markers.

Hello sir.... I'm a bit new to this but I've been shooting with a Cannon hd video camcorder and want to set up menus/chapters burning on blue ray from my videos. I watched a tutoral video on doing this with elements premier 11 and it seemed fairly simple. Is it safe to assume that elements 15 has the same capabilities . All I'm looking to to really do is chapter editing not too much more than that .. Thank you ....
You definitely have a lot more options in premier than I have in Pinnacle Studio but the price difference is the measure.
agree, i am using pinnacle too.. and i think it is much easier to use too

Creative Cow Andrew Devis is the export on Adobe Encore menus and buttons. He has a whole series on TH-cam.
Hi there, Ive recently finished a charity school choirs film tow be burned to DVD. I dont normally burn DVDs in fact I ave nothing with a disc tray in my equipment.The guy has asked for it to be TIFF CYMK and 300 DPI in order to complete the burning of 700 DVDs. Will what yo have advised suffice?
720 by 480 or 640 by 480 RGB mpeg-2 is what you want for video on a DVD. Unless he's wanting a DVD of photos then the 300 pixel-per-inch CMYK would be fine that would just be for print though. If you're going to do web you want RGB images.

Hi. I'm adobe premiere cc 2017. I already finished editing my work and rendered it and exported it. but the video came out cropped and not full screen. I forgot to arrange the edting settings at the biginning of the project. how can i change my video files SIZE from 720/480 to 1920/1080p. in AME? video was shot at 1920/1080p. Thank you very much.
May I ask ,why after convert higher resolution,burn in DVD video only get me 720*576 25, quality not compare original DVD Sharp and clearly,can you teach how to make DVD 5 or 9, which video Editor can make DVD 5 or 9.thanks, ( play in home DVD player,not pc DVD player)
what should show up in the output folder during the exporting process ?
Hello Mr. Glenn. I have problems burning an encore project to a DVD.
Everything s working good until its ready for writing in to the disc, I get a small window message that it says "access denied "
Are you just using Window CD/DVD burning software? Are you using Windows 10? Usually I just make the VIDEO_TS folder and just burn it to the disc using Windows default burning software. Is that your config?

I have the same problem. Followed the outline and the DVD player won't recognize this. Says not supported file.

why adobe not a dvd (VOB) EXPORT???
You make the vobs out of Adobe encore after creating chapter markers and navigation structure. That's not done in Adobe Premiere.

so what was the point of shooting it in 4k anyways. maybe i dont need to stress myself about a 4k camera. we're not ready for it yet. hmm.
No, you don't. I shot a video in 4k with a Nikon z6 and compressed the edited clips to DVD and the IQ of the 4k video looks the same as what I get with my cheap 1" sensor camera...

I can show you how to make a dvd, but it won’t be HD unless you are burning to a Blu-ray. Is that what you need?
Hi Tony. When I use my video on encore it becomes jumpy and lose quality, however the exported video from the premier pro is good and not jumpy. What should I do?
