Soybon Action (cat mario) is actually very easy when you get the hang of the trolls and stuff, I actually beat it with like 200 deaths first game and I now have layouts memorized.

When Mario touches an enemy, you have to make sure that he is high enough above it or if he is moving downwards. If Mario touches an enemy while he moves downwards, Mario's position with the enemy position doesn't matter and he will stomp on the enemy anyways (even if he touches the enemy from the side). That's why you die from touching an enemy sideways sometimes and sometimes you don't die.
i thought the piranha plants were supposed to spit fire, not hammers...

In response to the speculation at 2:21:
You will not defeat the game today. Whenever you hit 8-4, the "random levels when you die" mechanic requires you to defeat the hardest level in one go. Not a winning proposition for any level of player skill, especially given the Hammer Bros. and 50% chance of enemy randomization rather than removal.
EDIT: This assumes you can even get to 8-4 in the first place. Yet 1-1 was correctly followed by 1-2, despite the randomization. Do you have to beat the entire game on one life in order to avoid the randomization from messing you up?
When you were explaining this game at the beginning, I yelled out "JEEZ!", in a way similar to how I would if I just got some ridiculous bill in the mail. As I watched the rest, I realized that, yes, this game is just as unfair as being charged insane prices for phone data. Jeez!

I recently decided to try this hack myself. The idea of random enemies is neat, but when that darned Lakitu shows up, it's usually death for me. Seriously, I hate how he tosses a bazillion hammers the instant he appears, causes massive lag that interferes with my controls, and generally screws over my enjoyment. I'd rather play a version of this hack where Lakitu does NOT throw hammers.
Also, I'm not a fan of Piranha Plants tossing hammers either (especially if I get killed while entering a pipe-- seriously?!), and the bullet cannons shooting Goombas is funny, but they spawn 1 tile too high, and can spawn and instantly telefrag me while I'm standing on top of a cannon, which should normally be a safe spot.
Oh, and the pipe leading to the bonus room in 1-1 is broken. For some reason, it always sends me into a pit in the middle of 6-3. Other pipes do work correctly (if I don't die to a hammer while entering), so I don't get what the deal is with that.

World 6-3 (the gray athletic level with bullet bills, white platforms and no enemies) was programmed to not have any enemies besides bullet bills. That's why you didn't get any enemies there.

The Lakitu spawns down, 'cause the ceilling is blocked, so it goes up and result in warping to the ground (Level hight limitation), it can only be spawned in the level unblocked area from botton to top

I gave this video a thumbs up because of you, not because of this rom hack. It was way too difficult to be fun. The hammers and lack of being able to beat it made it probably my least favorite I've seen you play. But you, on the other hand, are great BTG.

10:02 Sometimes, the kicked Koopa shells can go through Hammer Brothers. That is because the Hammer Brothers don't have collision detection sometimes and stuff like enemies or blocks can go through them while Mario can't. And why does this happens? Well, that is because the Hammer Brothers can jump or fall through blocks. So they are programmed to always collide with Mario, but not with other enemies or blocks.
*This obviously happens in World 8-3, when you want to kick that Koopa shell through two Hammer Brothers right before a pipe, but the shell sometimes won't collide with the Hammer Brothers. I have experienced that feeling too and it's annoying!* XD

Mostly true. Beat game. It showed up at 104 lives and 289 lives. I did beat all level before it showed up for the 2nd time
