I'm allergic to cats, yet that didn't stop me from loving on cats. Even though the hair and scratches/bites causes my skin irritation and burning sensation, I still got my every own cat (who's 16 years old going onto 17) and I would just deal with it. And we even have a kitten

My allergy is bee stings, which I learned the hard way a couple times in elementary school when even medicated I'd be unusually swollen for days where I was stung.
Can't say I ever planned to be a beekeeper to say it effected me where pets are concerned, BUT it makes me 10x the computer-addicted introvert in the spring when all the bees and other flying insects come out. I've even taken to hanging fake nests around then too, so they don't get too close. It's been years, actual decades even, since I've been stung, so there's every chance my allergy is gone, BUT there's also a chance it's even worse now and a sting might kill me. I'm not rolling the dice.
oh yeah i have a friends who is also deathly allergic to bees i hate stings anyway but it would suck even more for them to be lethal!
I have a pollen allergy which has been a journey i didn't have it when i was a kid then i was a teenager who couldn't leave my house in the summer without being medicated now im an adult and its now a really mild allergy i dont use medication unless its really bad so im very happy for that.

My bestie has a soya allergy; she has to read the ingredients lists for everything she buys and she can’t risk eating at a cafe or restaurant as there’s no guarantee the oil they use won’t have soya in it.

@ She has an epi-pen and has shown me, my mum and her family how to use it if she goes into anaphylactic shock; she’s not had a reaction that bad yet, but the risk is there.
I’m specifically allergic to horse dandruff. No other animals, just horses… I go near them and my throat gets extremely itchy 💀

I've seen several reactions to this video just cause it's so cute. But honestly, I'm a dog person, even though I love both. Cats, like Jaiden, I was allergic to, but they'd just make me sneeze. I have overall had more experience being around my sister's dogs, then cats as a whole. But I'm being honest when I thought, "Dairu, you don't strike me as a cat person, bro!"

Wife is allergic to gluten and soy, so it can be an absolute nightmare to eat out or cook with any prepackaged ingredients. Also expensive, since the gluten free items are usually at least 2x as expensive as other options

Didn't have any allergies growing up, ate whatever I wanted and had lots of different pets, including cats. A few years ago though I suddenly developed mild allergies to milk, beef, and pork and only a year ago I found I'm now allergic to cats. It's rough out here.

i have allergies that can be epi-pen to full ER visits.
i am allergic to cherries, and cherry flavoring unless its completely synthetic that does not use anything from the cherry.
i am also allergic to crab meat...weirdly enough this allergy did change over time, it used be really bad like the cherry one, but I've noticed over the last 10 years its calmed down, now if it flares its usually sores inside my mouth and throat....still not fun but its manageable if i take good chunks of time between eating anything with it in it.
i also have hay-fever, this one is like revolving door it comes quick then is gone just as bad, the week - 2 weeks are over in a flash that i don't even need OTC stuff.
our bodies are weird, and always changing...cant make up its mind on what it wants lol.

The only time I know of that someone became a forever home for their foster pet is my own family since we got an elderly Irish wolfhound who had just lost her owner, so we took care of her until we had to make the sad decision to let her go because she was just _so old_ and in constant pain. Her name was Sandy if anyone’s curious.

I'm allergic to pineapple. You'd be surprised by how many things has pineapple in it via citric acid for preservative reasons. Not all citric acid is pineapple but it's never specified. I have brands I can trust but trying new brands is off the table after the last time I tried a new brand of spaghetti sauce and ended up going to the hospital.

Its not technically an allergy but lactose intolerance SUCKS ASS. I have to be so careful at restaurants and ask them: "Hey, is this thing made with butter or dairy?" and sometimes the servers are like: "Uh, I have no clue. Probably?" What's weirder, is that I'm pretty much fine if the dairy is like, baked into the food, like cakes or certain breads (unless it has a LOT of it, like croissants), but if the icing is dairy based, or they use butter to sautee the onions, I will shit myself within minutes of eating it. And sometimes I go somewhere and order something that I'm sure wouldn't have dairy in it, only to get it, take a bite and be like: "There's butter on this white rice. Why is there butter." Or y'know, a family member forgets I'm lactose intolerant, makes food, and I can't eat it. ;w;
I'm also kind of allergic to ibuprofen, it makes my throat tighten up a little to the point where it's hard to swallow, but I can still breathe. But I'm allergic to cats, get sniffly and itchy pretty bad. But I'm BADLY allergic to rabbits. Like, "I should go to the hospital" allergic. I can't breathe and I'm itchy and miserable. Found that one out the hard way when visiting family for thanksgiving.
yeah that lactose intolerance is definitely a big one that people deal with and stomach aches are the worst so i feel you. and damn thats crazy about the ibuprofen at least you can take other meds tho when you need to!
I'm allergic to the watermelon fruit. For years I'd eat it then my throat gets scratchy. So when I started dating my current gf I told her and she was like stop eating it.

I used to be so allergic to chlorine that every time that I would swim in a public pool, I would have to wear earplugs because I would get severe ear infections. It's honestly a miracle that I hadn't lost my hearing. Especially with the frequent doctor visits.
Now I don't have that problem, much like Jaiden with her allergies to cat. It seems like the allergy just kind of disappeared and I don't know why.
Also, some cats just have that permanent scared face even though they're not scared at all! That's my friend's kitten! She constantly looks like she's freaked out by something when she's not. She's just a silly Kitty!

A slight allergy to garlic is my problem. Small amounts cause by mouth to feel dull, large ones can make my tongue swell (swelling never happened in my throat, just in my mouth on the tongue, but that was so much garlic I cried out in pain from eating the dish from the moment the spoon even touched my mouth, that's also how I discovered I can't have too much garlic). The symptoms last less than an hour tho.
Before you ask, no, I'm not a vampire, I wish tho.

This same thing happened to me when I was allergic to dogs but one day I went to an adoption center to adopt my first pet which was gonna be a hamster, BUT A DOG JUMPED ON MY HEAD *it jumped on my head cause I was crouching* luckily the dog was very smol and I already knew the consequences so I was like “yk what? F*ck it! I will receive the consequences but at least I felt happy for once *like very absolutely happy* and when we left, I DIDINT have any signs of allergy! And the next thing yk it, I’m going to my uncles house 2 days later and his house is FULL of dogs *like just 3* and I started my experiment and after I found out I wasn’t allergic, I still just got a hamster and DIDINT get a dog until my next birthday XD

@josuevargas1952 cocoa as in chocolate. I can't eat anything or use products that contain cocoa beans. So, no products with cocoa butter, no cacao nibs (made from ground cocoa beans), chocolates, and some sauces.

@DairuTV yep. Used to have chocolate milk and hot cocoa a lot as a kid and kept getting very sick. Finally, they figured out it was the chocolate.

I'm allergic to the usual stuff, y'know dust, pollins and resently peanuts (really upset about that), oh yeah i almost forgot, my allergy to THE FREAKING SUN! My skin turns red, gets swolen and itchy if i'm in the sun for too long in the summer and spring.

I may be minorly allergic to a handful of animal species, but one allergy that I still have since puberty is an allergy to being too cold; the moment the temperature of my flesh drops below a certain threshold and I'm itchy with hives, if I push it further than that then I'm at threat of anaphylactic shock before I'm at threat of hypothermia. I always know if I still have it when if I go walking outside while it's cold my legs start to itch because it almost ALWAYS starts in my legs.

Yeah you actually can be allergic to it being too cold whenever I go outside my hands become very dry same thing with my gluten allergy whenever any of those things happened to me my hands always become very dry and why do my hands specifically get dry when your hands are usually the first thing that will show reaction to to allergies or just skin in general

I'm allergic to blackberries, it's such a weird specific thing but because it's so oddly specific and food-related, any 'berry' mix I have to VERY carefully read through to ENSURE I do not consume any blackberry. Thankfully it's nothing horrible, the last time I accidentally had some, I got a rash on my neck and upper chest, and my neck felt weird but I survived. I don't know if allergies can get worse, but I'd rather not take the risk so I just try to avoid it. Strangely can still have raspberries, even though they're in the same family.

The almond thing for you also happens to me. It may be heart burn which isn't as bad as it sounds I promise. Look up alcaseltzer. You just put it in some water and drink it and then the feeling goes away pretty quick

I'm allergic to at least 37 things to some extent. I had a reaction to everything they tested for at the allergist. I'm about 4 years into allergy shots and they help a lot. I don't react nearly as bad to literally the entire outside world now.

I'm allergic to propalyne glycol and synthetic fragrances; gives me a very bad skin rash if I come in contact with either. Probably a number of other synthetic chemicals too considering the sheer number of laundry detergents, shampoos, dish soaps, surface cleaners, and other such things that also cause the same rash in the same pattern. This is very annoying because it means I have to spend more on stuff to keep myself and my house clean since about the only stuff I don't react too is the organic crap. And even that isn't 100% guatanteed as I learned from the Jason anti-dandruff shampoo experiment resulting in rash. Basically I have ridiculously sensitive skin and I'm just waiting for the day I develop an allergy to sunlight or water because then my life will *really* get complicated.
Also, cats usually live between 12 to 15 years if they are outdoor cats or between 18 and 30+ years if they are strictly indoor cats. Oldest cat on record lived to be 32 which is why I say 30+ years. Cats can get cancer, kidney failure, and a whole host of other health issues including, in one cat that belongs to my non-biological sister's case, allergy to a feline distemper vaccine that gave him symptoms of antifreeze poisoning. She told the vet to discontinue that particular vaccine and he's still around as well as still a total goober. He and his brother should be around 17 or 18 years old now, so who knows how much longer they will be in our lives considering they are indoor-outdoor in spite of our efforts to make them indoor babies as kittens. Never underestimate a kitten's ability to escape when they are truly determined to experience all life has to offer. Or the ability of one kitten in particular to destroy eardrums with volume of his wailing because we won't let him out. ...The vocal cords on that tiny boy...and he's still loud as an adult...

@@DairuTV It helps that cat lore is a hyperfixation of mine borne out of life-long exposure to the critters. My mom had two cats when I was born, Alexander and Munchkin, then we had pet cats all through my childhood and adolescence until it was time for me to attempt independence. I now have my own cat, Momo. It seems it will be my destiny to be the crazy cat lady of my familial generation. I have no regrets.

so I don't show on allergy-tests and I'm fine most of the time, but if I'm exposed to a sligtly larger amount of something over some time, then over time I will have symptoms... Actually I have been told that this is normal for most people, but for some people the limit for exposure is less than the average person...
feks. I can wear makeup a couple of times a year with no issue at all, but if I wear it every day for a week I will start getting mild red spots on my face and if I keep wearing makeup the reaction gets gradually worse...
or when I had a cat. I had her for 5-7 years and only in the last two did I start having mild reactions, then at some point I develloped a bad cough and wheezing when brushing her, so she had to get a new home... If I got a cat now, I would not have any issue, and most likely wouldn't for some years, but down the road I would be likely too react again...
and this can be with anything and everything... just the amount dictates if I get issues, but I can't predict it, and medicine is not an option as I'm not actually allergic, and it is not seen as me being sick, as again it is normal to have a reaction to high exposure of things... My limit is just less than the average person so it is a bit of a hassel...
No where as bad as actuall allergy, as I can just manage it... still a hassel though... and I miss my cat a lot...
It sounds sort of similar to my aunt who had an autoimmune disorder but less immediately severe. Nothing but respect as you balance it all!

@@katiereed5038 The severity really do vary... I manage fine, it is just a little bit of a hassel... I feel bad for people who have it bad enough that they can devellop allergies from their sensitivities... that must be so tough...

I'm not at risk for that as far as I know... But that must be so tough... actual allergies must be a bunch to deal with... I went to school with a girl who would ask classmates to check the hallways for people eating peanuts out of bags, so she could avoid them, she said that just the dust from the bags was bad-.-' I can't imagine how tough that must be.

I love cats and dogs and peanut butter. I would cry if got an allergy to those! I love cats but I'm more of a dog person. I understand why some people prefer cats.
