It's hard to describe to younger viewers how exciting it was when the books came out. At the time there was no EU, no prequels, nothing other than a few books. This was the first new Star Wars content since Jedi, and it was fantastic

The Expanded Universe was dope. The Thrawn Trilogy, Jedi Academy Trilogy. Even stand alone novels like Truce at Bakura were so good and true to the characters. Shadows of the Empire etc. There were duds too but so much better than the trash Disney has churned out.

Some libraries have digital databases. If you go to a nearby public library, ask for their website and maybe use their computers if you need. 23 minutes covers the story well but you should still read the trilogy. It's a fantastic read.
