Heeey... I know I've watched this before but i ended up buying a 11 Duc Monster 796 as my first bike a little over two years ago. I plan to keep this as long as i can. I tend to use things until they die out..
Not sure why they stay with 2 valves, but I'm OK with it. (I own the 1100 Monster, but you could ask the same question of it). Adjusting 8 desmo valves would be expensive. The other thing is that the power is fine. I know I'm showing my age, but...how much power do you need? Over the years, I have come to value torque over max HP and would rather power be made where I use it - under 9000rpm. There's a bit less peak adrenaline, but more fun. The Monster is the most fun bike I've ever owned.
im just curious as to why ducati went with 2 valves per cylinder as opposed to 4, you would think since they push the fact that the monster is a sporty bike, they would do that, im sure it would not only improve horsepower but may be some MPG's ? just curious, cuz i grew up being taught that DOHC is better than SOHC
Im not sure its an insurance thing, well certainly not in the UK. My 2012 1100 Evo cost £165 for comprehensive insurance! I was amazed, that's the lowest of any bike I've ever had.
my left ear enjoyed everything
Nice review Rob!
Im going to a 14t front sprocket. The bogging down low is horrible. Bike handles like a dream!

thank you for explaining. i've always thought that monsters with single swing arm are modified...nice comparison against bmw f800r
Where do you guys test your bikes? Is that in SoCal?
hey . nice review by the way how much mileage does 796 give normally in kmpl
About 15km/L but if you’re chilling and cruising which is hard to do cos the torque is so addictive you can get up to 18-20km/L
is the 796 good for a "starter" Bike?
@PERIZ99 Ducati's have L2 (like V2 but in L-shaped) motors

is the bike reliable?
Ou maj gad :D Rob schneider :D
epic chops
Eh, my CBR has a -1 front sprocket. Really it's a tiny difference, like 7%. I doubt that will make or break anything.

yea but you aren't 22, for me there is a huge difference in price
800cc twin bogs at low RPM?
Do not want.
@The3dsGeek
holy crap he really does!
it was probably more a dry clutch model with a tickling sound
He looks like Wolferine's Son !
he`s got some kind of growth on his face.....
i now understand why it is called a monster....
This guy looks like Rob Schneider..........
I've read that it's 1.2 inches higher than the 696, and something like .3-.5 inches shorter than the 1100.
There are lamb chops on his face... Am I the only one freaking out about this?!
the sound is horrible. i couldn't make out a single word. fix this video because i just bought a 796 and would love to actually hear it.
All you did was say that the 796 is in between the 696 and 1100. Well thanks cpt obvious.
Also why does it look bland on paper? pfft
put your left earphone in...
