  • So you made it through to the next round of getting a teaching job here in Japan. Or maybe you are currently working as an ALT in Japan or as an ESL teacher in another country and you'd like to challenge a new position that requires a demonstration (demo) lesson. The demo lesson can often be the deciding factor in you getting the job as it's usually one of the final steps in the interview/recruitment process. If you've never taught in a classroom alone before, it can be a little overwhelming. Teaching live in front of an audience, whether it be a team of recruiters along with actual students, can be a lot more stressful for some people because you never know how your lesson will unfold. As someone who has been teaching for over 40 years, I've done my share of demo lessons as a job-seeking teacher as well as being on the other side as a member of the recruitment team. In this video, I would like to share my insight and offer some tips to help you prepare for a demo lesson to teach here in Japan. Of course, every situation is different, but hopefully, this video can help you determine and decide what will make you stand out as a potential teacher that everyone would love to hire!

Congratulations! That's great news! I have never heard of or taken a Progos test, but it looks like they have a lot of sample questions and advice on TH-cam so you could see some sample questions and get some assistance on there. Good luck!!
