REAL ITALIAN TIRAMISU BY NONNA LINA!!! Recipe from Italy!

This is the best tiramisu ever! It is so light and creamy and has a nice coffee and chocolate flavor. This recipe is from my friend Vittoria’s grandmother: Nonna Lina Cagoni of Modena Italy. So it is a real Italian recipe!

Nonna Lina’s Tiramisu
Ingredients:​​​​​​​
5 eggs ​​​​​​​​
1 pinch salt ​​​​​​​​
5 tbsp sugar ​​​​​​​
2 cups coffee room temp(try strongly brewed coffee or espresso)
Ladyfingers (about 40)
16 oz . mascarpone ​​​​​​​
1 tbsp room temp.water ​​​​​​
1 block of chocolate/semisweet chopped(I did 5 oz)
Cocoa powder
Directions:
1. Separate eggs into two bowls, egg whites in small bowl, yolks into larger bowl.
2. Add sugar to yolks and beat till creamy about 2 mins.
3. Slowly add mascarpone 4 oz at a time to egg yolk/sugar mix and beat till creamy
4. Add salt and water to egg whites, beat till foamy about 2 mins.
5. Add by hand egg white foam into egg yolk cream, mix till creamy
6. Layer:
Dip cookies into the coffee, place as first layer
1 ladle of cream
Sprinkle chocolate pieces
Sift chocolate powder over top
7. Then repeat layering again
8. Let set in refrigerator for 2 hours before serving or freeze for later, take out 30 mins. to thaw at room temperature.

One of my favorites. My dad was from Italy but he married an Irish lady so we never had this growing up plus my dad never ate sweets of any kind.
