None of the "clutter" in front of you at the beginning of the video are able to make a true espresso, which according to the official definition of the Italian Espresso National Institute (this is for a "solo" 25 mil cup): 7 g ± 0.5 of finely ground coffee through which passes water at 9 bars of pressure at a temperature of 88°C ± 2°C in 24 ± 2 seconds. The machine behind you is able to do this; and I assume that the Breville can as well. BTW, it's the basket that's 58mm and not the "handle" (5m59sec). Is the Breville a "typical" home machine? I don't think so. A more typical machine, such as the Rancilio Silvia, doesn't come with a built-in grinder. Anyone purchasing that Breville isn't following your (questionable) advice to spend more on a grinder than on an espresso "kettle".
1. He is not saying the clutter in the beginning is for making espresso. He says they are a variety of brewer, and then says this time he is going to talk about espresso. 2. A handle is also 58mm, in the way it is made for holding a 58mm basket. 3. The breville is a typical home machine. It is one of the most available to the large public in most of the world. I know several people with this exact machine. I must even say that your Rancilio Silva is a lot less typical. 4. He is also not saying to buy this exact machine, but explains what accessories to buy and purchase to improve your setup, apart from the machine/grinder.
