I'm a faux painter & have been doing it for about 40yrs & I have to say yr faux marble looked pretty good. The more gloss u apply the more real it looks. But I love the transformation of the table. The black really makes it pop !! Great job !!
That final "fluff-over" with the white paint was the perfect touch to make the faux look realistic. Glad you replaced the medallions, all looking great.
A good outcome, apparently the veining is more random in texture, direction and intensity if you use the tip of a feather (wing or tail from a larger bird, i.e. duck or geese), then you use a soft bristle brush to lightly blend it in (like a BobRoss painting). To save waiting for base coats to dry, I think the faux finishers added a glaze component to keep the base coat workable while the veining, variations and shadows were added.
@@salvagedbykscott any kind of feather will work, try it on cardboard, slightly roll the base in your hand as you move along. What he is saying is completely valid in my experience.
Ever since you first posted this i have been waiting every Saturday for this video 🤣 you had me on the edge of my seat. So dang good !! Love the medallions !
Very pretty and delicate looking table. The medallions give it a traditional look too. I did watch a diy using a plant leaf for more random veining and they hit with a light spray of water to spread out with web like veins.
What a beautiful transformation. Love the faux marble top. This is definitely a classic piece and can be used with all decor. Thanks Katie for another great video !!
Love it! I’ve watched other tutorials demonstrating the faux marble top and your demo was much easier with a great outcome. Also like the staging:) Happy New Year to you and yours 🙏
Absolutely stunning. It looked so easy, but I’m sure it’s not. I’ve never refinished a piece of furniture, but finding a small piece would be key. I may just try this. Thank you for sharing.
Looks gorgeous Katie...as always. You're a true artist. I always love the look of your pieces when you really flex your creative muscles. This one is truly stunning and sophisticated.
I did the same thing to a cute pedestal table I found on Marketplace in my neighborhood. I did a bunch of layers and it was so fun and the outcome really is amazing! I like the glossy finish you gave yours.
Love it! I was looking for a video on doing this before I tried it. My daughter wants a vanity with a marble top. This is perfect. It gave me the motivation to try it.
It's so beautifull.... you did an amazing job with that faux marble!!! Happy new year too dear Katie, looking forward to see your new content for 2022!!!
WOW!! This turned out fantastic!! I’ve wanted to try the resin pour to get this look, but definitely think I’ll go with this first. It looks so authentic and love the little medallions! Happy New Year!
Perfect staging for piece: The matted abstract art with perfect tint of gold frame. Nice. What size is its frame and where did you source? Did not find in your description. Your creativity is endless.

Yes, that’s the OG 90’s version! I’ll have to find a feather for next time 😝
YOU took the words out of my mouth, an actual feather looks much better and so much easier to make it look random.

The marble finish looks great
I think this is my favorite furniture makeover of yours!
