The desk is a masterpiece. I've never been much for the whole epoxy trend that's going around on TH-cam, but I love charred wood, and the fake "amber" you made just did something to this table that made me LOVE IT. You did it so tastefully, so many others just pour gallons after gallons of either epoxy with color in it, or just clear epoxy - and the epoxy just shows too much. You used it to make a table useful, you shaved down the epoxy as close to the wood as possible which made the wood the focal point, not the epoxy - which is what most people on TH-cam just do not do. I really loved the result. It's *gorgeous* - but what else could I expect from you? You're a wizard when it comes to making furniture!

The desk looks fab. The scorched look is something people either love or hate, and I love it. It's an amazing birthday present, but it's not just the money spent on the products but the time and effort you put into this project that also needs to be appreciated. I hope you got more than a pair of socks for your birthday 🤣.

Just beautiful! Of course. I always love your projects. 😊
If you're ever commissioned to do something like this again with epoxy, you might look into the Nanotech finish (cant remember what it's called) that Blacktail uses. It's expensive but supposed to be crazy durable and it's gorgeous. And pallets are a fantastic wood source. Because they often come from overseas they can use woods like mahogany which is very inexpensive there. Just be careful because they are also treated with some nasty chemicals.

@@monkeybarmonkeyman It can’t be a miscalculation: he would have said it. Kind of having a rough wood plank that needs planing before sanding?

I might add that my husband and I have been writing poetry both for over 30 years and I have been doing jewelry design for over 20, so I know poetry when I see it, I think I can say confidently. What amazes me is the symbolic depth in this. Dragon stuff, heroism, for starters. The story of making it was as good as the product. You have very sure taste and I think you can trust that going into the future. Technically, you might have preferred this or that, or done something differently, but in the end it does not matter; the sumptuous beauty shines through a perfect table. Bravo. I think I see a winner here. :)

Kinda reminds of when back in the mid-80's,
    I bought a beautiful Hawaiian dress($78)
and all the accoutrements ($100+), on sale at Saks Fifth Avenue. Well, that outfit turned into a 2 week vacation in Acapulco for $$$. So, free wood and a marked down dress ends up costing a lot more what you started with. But boy, did I have some fun. And in that little cocktail dress, I looked as hot as the amber in the charred wood, with a smokin' tan too. Well done Andy, well done.

Just beautifull. Not my type of desk, but my nephew would love something like that! The workmanship, as always, superb. I am sure your brother will appreciate it for many years to come.

love your creativity and curiosity to try epoxy, but still prefer furniture with natural materials (wood). Always looking forward to your next videos.

It came out really nice. Don't feel bad about the imperfections, they gave the table character. a lot of modern furniture is way too perfect looking and soulless.

I can say with confidence that if you wanted to make a desk out of cherry or oak, you could use exclusively pallets if you looked around enough. That being said, this is a beautiful piece, a really great way to upscale cheap pine boards. (:

¡Hermosa mesa / escritorio! Felicidades por tu poder de crear algo que es grato a la vista. Gracias, de nuevo, por compartir tu don. Tu jardín está precioso y edénico, al menos lo que has enseñado en tus videos. Un abrazo.
