Avoid Vietnam's Most Impolite Fake Market ! 🇻🇳

  • Hey everyone, thanks for checking out the description. In this video, I want to share my honest opinions and experiences from my recent visit to Ho Chi Minh City. I encountered some very rude and unpleasant moments which you'll see in the video.
However, this video is not meant to spread hate towards Vietnam or the Vietnamese people; I simply want to shed light on the negative aspects.
I visit the Cho Ben Thanh market and Saigon Square in HCMC. At both markets, I frequently encounter rude and unhelpful vendors who seem disinterested in customers. I try the typical Vietnamese Iced Coffee and set out to find a football jersey. Throughout, I face attempts to overcharge me with inflated prices, hence the title "Scam".
In the end, I finally find my beloved jersey for EURO 2024.

Yes she cursed at the end and it wasnt nice but i can feel her pain and suffering.
Your in a good position, getting your shoes unnecessary clean when she doesnt have money to clean her childrens teeth. Imagine her tears when she realises people have cleaner shoes than her teeth.
Its a big tough city and its easy to find yourself in a bad hole thats hard to climb out of.
Maybe your not religious but a christian and buddhist would have helped if they could. If you dont feel like you want to help no need to be proud and look down on her. Be humble and listen rather than talk. You can spend in one hour what she cant make in a month

    Dear visitor,
In traditional markets, vendors will aggressively solicit buyers in an attempt to sell their goods. It is part of traditional market culture to quote high prices when offering goods. But you can bargain to get a better price. Suppose you or I are a vendor, our goal is to make the most profit, right? If you don’t like being solicited or having to haggle over goods that are quoted too high, then you shouldn’t go to traditional markets, and if you do go, you shouldn’t buy anything, and don’t interact with the vendors. Based on your preferences, I think you should stick to those supermarkets and shopping malls. IMHO, it sounds like you have not traveled that much and happened to experience a culture shock which was why you gave your vlog a title that is a little too harsh for your mom's or your dad's homeland.

      Hey there,
Thanks for the nice feedback. I am well aware of the prices in this market. And that was the reason I visited them, because you most of the time can get a cheap or a decent price for the things you search.
In this particular case, I looked for a jersey, and was trying to negotiate the 450k to a lower price which failed.
In the next market I found a whole kit for a way cheaper price. So I would say in the end, it worked out for me.
The title that I chose is independent, from any country or nation.
I would choose that title for any other country, since it was based on my experience in this particular market and not on any home country.
Even my parents told me that this is a rough market sometimes, when you don't know the language 100%.
So with that being sad, even my parents agree that this is a impolite market.
Kind regards and make sure to check out the other episodes aswell, so you can see how my character and way of talking is.
I never go into a market with prejudices, rather I give every market a fair chance.

Honestly, the Sport Jerseys are cheaper in VN. In Europe you pay 2x or 3x the price of VN :D

I don't think they give you the cold shoulder because you're a foreigner who can speak viet, I think it's more because they know you're a foreigner and you're not willing to help them out cutting them some slack for what could be only a dollar or two for you but for them it's obviously like 10-20 bucks or whatever. Help a viet sis / bro out ya nom sayin'. We got it good.. we don't have to live like that share the blessings.
They would be abit jealous or envious they needa live that life and work their ass off for pennies ya know?
I'm also a viet who's from a Western country and whilst I don't want to be given the full ' foreigner ' rates I'll generally tell them give me the local price + a little extra for you and they're usually pre cool with it cause they know their original price is BS and we both know it but I'm still willign to give them a little bonus.
If it's too high still and they're tryna take the piss I usually say dw about it and they'll try run ur ass down but that ships sailed. xd

Yes honestly, I try to respect anyone especially from my parents home country, that's why u mostly see me vibing with other Vietnamese.
Watch the other episodes in VN aswell, so you can see how I try to support our fellows.
Kind regards and thanks for the nice feedback.
