What I love about you and your videos is your honesty. "Yesterday was a disaster " a minute to get the body on, then the dogs barking!!!!
Brilliant mate, keep em coming please ❤

Hi Peter, thanks for your great comment, really means alot. I do like to try and keep
A realistic and honest approach to things , part of it comes from not always having a big filming budget 😜 also I do like that not everything on TH-cam has to be a 100% polished shiny video, yes they look great but they can sometimes loose a honest approach. Cheers for your support

Beautiful build, Andy. Nice hop-up part choices, and it looks like a blast running.

The Super Astute is a fantastic looking buggy, I'd love to get one but cannot afford it. You've got some great upgrades on there, they'll definitely help! It runs really well, looks great, awesome stuff!!

Few upgrades required for this then, thanks for sharing this info. Like what you did with the shell 👍🏻

Hi mate I hope your well. Yes the Astute does need a bit of work to it to make it more reliable. It had some great ideas back In the day ultimately against the competition it was still a bit over complicated and heavy. Still like it though ;)

I like the upgraded pivot blocks, those look like a really nice item to get. I will put those on the list of things to pick up! Super cool buggy and I look forward to running mine.

I spy with my little eye........thanks for the subtle plug on the spoiler! Those wishbones definately look like the could break if you stared at them long enough hopefully the upgrades can be sorted before you race it! It will be good to see this up close!

Nice to see it out 👍 im still on the fence about this, but as ive had to really tighten the rc purse this year. It may just have to wait till next year 😭

that thing looks cool! peak buggy design really, rear cab. But Andy please do without the 3 adapters and standardize your battery connectors to 1 type, last thing we want is something to melt and catch on fire. love your vids btw.

I broke multiple of those weak front bulkheads on my original Astute, I remember gluing it back together and reinforcing it with aluminium and all sort of things but I kept breaking them until my father made me one out of nylon that is still going strong.

If anyone is going to moan about the multiple connectors.
On a NIMH pack the current draw is that low it doesnt make bugger all difference.
That being said i need to pick one of these up !

Great video, getting back into RC, looking at a 2WD thinking between this or Sand Viper. I know you really rated the Sand Viper. Would love to hear your thoughts or see a comparison video. 👍

That runs well Andy. Very tempted to get one and do an original Astute replica with red body and yellow shocks. Any idea of the part numbers for the yellow CVAs or which other models used the same size?

    How is it “over engineered”?

    • @andyrobinsonrc2480
      @andyrobinsonrc2480  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

Mainly because of all the brass bushings in the c-hubs and the front and rear bulkhead, just not needed. Although it was an improvement over the original Astute which was even more over engineered with its rear hubs and rear toe links etc. plus compared to contemporaries of the time it was probably a little heavier

Hope this helps: A couple of people have asked me which stick radio I’ve been using in some of my videos. This is a new budget/mid priced controller by Etronix it’s the EX4SPro and so far so good, it retails at about £90
