He was great guy. Losing a son might have triggered all his misery. I lost a 21 yr old son and it took its toll on me. RIP Kristoff St John. I miss you already .
He's always going to be missed and always in our hearts.
Mr. Kristoff St.John was a father figure to me, he was a very inspiring and motivational man, his character made you want to develop yourself into him like a better brother, cousin, uncle or husband. Thank you for the life lessons of being a man for the family and respecting your woman like she is the last woman on earth. You will surely be missed but your memory live on in our hearts. Love u man from Jamaica.

I'm so saddened for kristoff every day that I don't want to believe its true he has departed this life & the sad thing about it he had so many friends & no one could see that he was suffering terribly.
I just hate to know that yes hes gone.

Last Days Right, he was a true pioneer and legend in the Black community...TvOne should do an Unsung Hollywood on him. Kristoff deserves that and much more...His life and legacy must never be forgotten!

I remembered Kristoff St. John, from Roots, the second generation. He played a young Alex Haley as a boy. You could see the talent, this young, sweet boy had back than.

How do you know no one helped him? One, a lot of people tried to help him and two, for a large part he hid the severity of his grief.

@@shawndrea4055 I am 60 yes old now. It was so long ago. I think I may have been in my early 30. Because I remember I asked him where was Dru and he said I left her at home. It was in the metro center. I took my two girls to see him.

I actually just found out about his death I’m in shock. I haven’t watched y&r in awhile but he was always one of my favorites.
Steve,you forgot to mentioned that he played a 12 years of aged Mr.Alex Haley in Roots The Next Generation in 1979. I was a 11 years of aged little girl in 1979 and I had a huge crushed on him,when he was on Roots. RIP🌹

I agree that one can have friends of the opposite sex while in a committed relationship/marriage. Especially of those friends are in a union themselves that's a bonus.
Big big big question. What is attractive to “you”? Is it the pretty face, the listening ear or the time and energy given to “you”? If it is any of the aforementioned, then why aren’t “you” with that person? I’ld say YES one can have a close friend of the opposite sex as long as both parties honour and RESPECT the parameters of friendship.

His death just reeks. I don't want to play the "blame game", but this man had a myriad of friends, it seems. Where were they? Didn't they know the extent of his depression to SERIOUSLY intervene? I mean, whatever it took.

He did seek treatment for his depression just weeks prior to his death.

I have a lot of attractive male friends I'm not attracted to as more than friends. 1. Because I know the type of men they are holistically, I know we won't go well together so I don't waste my feelinga or theirs on something God isn't going to ordain anyway. 2. Therefore, they're more like brothers whom I really want to see end up with who God has for them and I wanna support them in that through prayer and any other help I can offer in their journey to finding their mate in Christ. Most of my friends are virgins anyway as I am, so maybe this is different for friends who are all virgins waiting for marriage than people who have slept with others before do having other non-virgin friends of the opposite sex is a bigger issue. I wouldn't know... 🤷🏾♀️
I always hoped that Kristoff would play President Obama in a movie about the President and Michelle in the white house because for some reason Kristoff reminded me so much of him. I hate it would never happen. Kristoff you are gone much too soon and you will be truly missed.

The guys who think men can't have platonic female friends are the ones who ONLY view women as sexual beings. I consider myself an attractive woman, and I have male friends--married and non-married--with whom I have never had any type of sexual or romantic relationships with. It's all about the man's mindset--same with the woman. I respect my married male friends' relationships, and we are never in inappropriate positions i.e. we aren't hanging out at 2am at my house. This doesn't mean we can't be friends and have lunch in broad daylight, though. It's all about respect. Same with the unmarried guys. We respect each other, and we're not into each other sexually. It really is possible to have platonic friendships with the opposite sex. In many cases, they're the best kind. People are just so dirty/carnal minded that they can't see the beauty in that. People also assume that the man or the woman must be homosexual, and that's not true either. The men whom I see/date romantically are in a completely different category. In fact, I talk to my non-romantic male friends about those guys, and they give good insight.

Ro Bau I just don’t see the reason y a married individual needs to have one on one meet ups with a friend. Why is is necessary? They should ALL be able to hang out & enjoy one another’s company. Now it’s a really difficult issue if the spouse & friend don’t get along. Soooo, u continue the relationship with the friend & have secret meet-ups??? It just can get difficult & messy.
I don't know how old you are but with age you may have a different perspective. I am 27 and I guess I'm an old soul but I believe when you find the one...there's not much room for other people outside of family and maybe 1 or 2 close friends especially those of the opposite sex. I think you're sliding down a slippery slope when you try to keep a hold of your old life after you have made vows and commitments to someone. Not saying to abandon your friends of the opposite sex completely but you definitely need to include your s/o in everything the two of you do together out of respect and it shouldn't be as much as it used to before the marriage.
Kristoff was trying hard to hide his grief, but he simply couldn't do it. He was in too much emotional pain; you could see it in his eyes. He also looked ill and appeared to have gained weight. I feel sad just looking at this clip. I can only hope he's resting in peace with his son Julian. 😢😔

I have a male friend that I've been besties with for over 35 years. Any woman he's been involved with during that time period, I've also been friends with. HE MADE SURE OF IT! Why? Because we are GENUINE friends! Never kissed, touched, etc. I've been in the delivery room with a couple of his kids also. Any man I've been involved with has also been told ahead of time that this man is my BEST friend and that there has never been any involvement. I look at him like he's more than my family because I'm not as close to my own brothers as I am this guy. I'm not physically attracted to him in the least bit! And I know he's definitely not interested in me in that way either. It's all about being real and mature. There's never been a problem with either of us in our relationships with other men and women. With that being said....I'd love to be more than friends with TANK!!!! lol!

I disagree. I have female friends for over 20-30 years. They are like sisters to me. They were there for me when i had breaks up, my divorces, etc. When my heart was broken, they were there for me. That is why i never tried to hurt myself when i was going thru my pain. They were my rock. I never tried to sleep them. I respected my friends. They were my buddies.

I’ve had male friends for 10-20+ years who’ve been their for me through family deaths, hospital stays, job loss, weddings, graduations and I can’t be your friend because I met someone...??? So what happens if you divorce are you going to go back to the friends u dumped?
