My father and my grandfather are babalawos priests of IFA. My mother and both grandmother's are priestesses of Yemaya and Oshun. IFA religion is all over Latin America in Cuba, Puerto Rico, Brasil, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Mexico Trinidad etc.. My whole family in Cuba and much of my family in Puerto Rico practice IFA brought to us from our Yoruba ancestors. My orisha is Yemoja who we call Yemaya mother of the sea. Alaafia, Ase'🙏🏾

This video could go a long way especially if certain Brazilians, Cubans, Carribeans etc come across it, they are quite famiiar with Ifa. My paternal family house used to be in that Bariga/Yaba area close to the University of Lagos, these used to be our villages and ancestral lands, before colonialists came around and Govt later. As someone who's been initiated into Ifa.
    1. It is important to make it clear that Ifa is not God (Eledumare) but a messenger like Jesus and Prophet Mohammed (Pbh).
    2. Odu Ifa 0|1 (Binary numbers). Computer software codes came from Ifa.
    3. Egungun is "Egungun" and not "masquerade." The word masquerade is a derogatory word used by the colonizers, to denigrate Egungun. Everything within our culture doesn't have to have an "English" translation.

15% of Yoruba unapologetically practise their ancestral African spirituality despite facing colonialism and stigmatisation from other foreign faiths. It is also said that 15% is the highest of any ethnicity in Africa practising African spirituality. I think he is an Ifa priest-Babalawo,which literally means Mystic-Priest. I love the Yoruba still holding to their belief system. Ifa is said to contain binary systems used in computing and data collection. I love Afrobeat. @UwaifoFavour-f2e Benin Republic is a nation, not an ethnicity. 14% of Benin Republic is indigenous Yoruba. Yoruba land like the Ashanti,Wolof,Hausa l Ewe was divided between the German,France, and the British. 75% of Yoruba land is in Nigeria, controlled by the British,20% in Benin Republic, controlled by the French 5% is in Tigo, controlled by the German. The Europeans in the Berlin conference of 1884-1885 divided Africa amongst themselves. The larger the kingdoms and empire, the more its divided and shared. The population of Benin Republic is 13.5 million. 14% are indigenous Yoruba. While the population of Yoruba in just Nigeria alone is estimated to be over 45 million. Yoruba in Benin Republic are called Anago or Nago.. I understand your ignorance. Many of you don't read. I am not Yoruba anyway. Read! Readers are leaders.

AT, i subscribed and turned on my Notification to your channel since your first ever visit to 9ja. Since then i have always been entertained, but in this video i was schooled by the IFA priest. I have my own IFA too, and it was also mentioned. I enjoyed this, many Nigerians have IFA but are very shy about it publicly because of stigmatization. Many Christians often condemn the practices referring to it as false god. Just like you heard from him its just a medium to communicate through Ancestors to the Creator. The practice recognizes God as the Alpha and Omega too. Until you are truly aware of the devinity of your Soul, you can never understand how IFA is a part of every human that has existed and still existing.
Thank you for this. I will save this video for further reference to the representation of the Oduns.

lt's a shame how Nigeria have lost everything because we've gradually lost our identity and who we really are. This lfa is everything they translated into Christianity today that our people are busy serving..The Odu he is talking about means law, precept, ways or principles of lfa.Odu is what they changed to exodus. There they are telling us ex odu,the movement from one believe system, power, law into another, they called christianity.Ifada becomes father in English language.Christ said do not call anyone on earth father,he does not mean father as in dad but do not call anyone your lfada on earth, your source of creation, power, blessing,he did not mean do not call your dad dad.The female osun or lyeosun/lyeosuwa was translated to joshua in English and later became Jesus in New testament.ln reality the Jesus story is actually a female originally untill it got out of Nigeria and suddenly became a male..Those calabash he tied on the rope was originally stones. That is the peter in the bible, where the christ says upon this rock l will build my church..Those rocks used for lfa is the inspiration behind thst line. That rock is the stone of divination or dreams, which is the human head..ln other word peter like all the characters in the bible is not talking about someone but the human head. The head is the true stone of lfa..Joshua in old testament is the same consciousness/mindset known as Jesus in the new testament. This is what the bible is telling us,when mose,(gratitude)died in the state/ consciousness of ethiopia or utopia joshua/Jesus in the new testament took the children of lsrael, Africans into the promised land.A state of blessing, joy, happiness, good health, prosperity etc.not a literal, physical land.Orunmila he talks about mean open heaven literally.lf anything, would it not make more sense if Nigerians believe in something that is called open heaven (orunmila) than a God that only loves you the more you tithe?😅I have seen Orunmila a few times in the spirit, but l am not sure if he literally, physically existed at one point in time.

You can't be afraid of what you know nothing about. IFA is the oral database of the Yoruba peoples, and IFA contains spirituality also. Africans should be afraid of Christianity and islam more because they have destroyed Africa more than any spiritual belief.

You are a brainwashed fellow! What is "idol worship"???? Your colonial massa told you that your fathers and father's fathers were devil worshippers... they told you that the basis of your civilisation was evil and you just blindly swallowed it???? As long as so many people like you have this self-hate like, we will continue to remain slaves to the rst of the world.

@@AfricasRealities I'm sorry, there are Nigerians of these generation born into what you call idol worship(traditional beliefs). It's what they know. Don't forget there are communities or villages far from development and located deep within some states in the hinterland.

People that brought you religion were building church ontop cells were they caged black slaves, sane people saw you as sub human even till today.. same applicable to Islam.. yet you are so thankful Mumuishly following 😅😂 continu, no wonder we are so backwards , Many Nigerian carry foreign religion on head yet still backwards and not progressing.. continue.. pls continue with your mumu but don't malign others afterall you do know if you are the one that has been fooled...lol😢😅

It's obvious that you have been brainwashed down religious line. Yoruba spirituality supercedes both christianity and islam. Do us a favour by telling us one benefit christianity and islam has brought to Yorubaland. IFA gave the Yoruba peoples the entire land they call Yorubaland today. All Yoruba people emanated from IFE before they started settling in other places. Every community in Yorubaland has got it's own Odu in IFA. There is already a mindshift happening in Africa towards the spiritual belief of their forefathers.
