How was your pumpkin harvest this year compared to last? I double-checked and I harvested 57 (57!!!!) last year, and this year I have FIVE - despite sowing prob 50+ seeds... Still, some things got to enjoy them... 🐁🐁🐁🐁🐁🐁🐁🐁🐁🐁🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🤣🤣🤣🤣
That’s a massive difference! I’m guessing not enough warmth this year. I didn’t grow any pumpkins this year because we found we didn’t really like the taste. Last year mine didn’t ripen because I planted them too late and the year before I had 8 pumpkins from 3 plants - not sure if that was good or not.
@@1northcountrygirl Ah, I love LOVE LOVE pumpkins so I am quite disappointed. It was a combination of mice, slugs and wet weather I think. But yeh, if I didn't like them I wouldn't bother either!
It was a holiday for us and you kerry 😂😂 glad you had a lovely time! That was a beautiful garden full of lettuce . I love the rows.. wonder if they got eaten 😂 no slugs too! Haha nice update! Here's to all the autumnal projects for us all. Danny 🌱😊
Thanks for taking us all along to Turkey. It must be hard to go to such a warm place and come back to cool and dreary. I’m impatiently waiting for cauliflower to finish up under low tunnels. We finally had almost 3” of rain to fix the drought and several days more starting Sunday. We have already had hard freeze and looks like it may stay on the cooler side-the temps have been on a rollercoaster ride majorly. We had a year’s worth of rain by July and then nothing. Too much rain didn’t fare well with tomatoes or squash.
Ah you're welcome! We can all do with a bit of sunshine at this time of year hey, even if it's just on TV. Glad to hear you've finally had some rain, but yeh the weather is scary isn't it.
Yes a funny year for squashes and pumpkins but some are better than none aren't they. I loved seeing your holiday adventures and the veg patch they had looked great. The acer was a splendid colour before you went on holiday, shame it lost it so quickly. Great garden tour. Take care
I am just going to really, really appreciate these three!! 🤣 It is a fleeting display with the Acer - but I guess like the pumpkins, that's what makes it precious!
Sunflower may have snapped with something crawling on it for seeds, the stalks get very brittle at this time. Fret not always fab content. Glad you had a nice holiday, Ali ☔️☔️☔️☔️🇨🇦
Another lovely video! Thank you, Kerry! Loved seeing the Acer tree at its glorious best before your holiday! Which also looked brilliant. The bats were amazing 😍 My parents have about 300 that nest in their roof every summer and they are so soothing to watch come and go on a warm summer evening 🦇 nothing like the size of these ones though! Wow! So much joy walking around your garden and seeing all the little moments of surprise! Such glee on your face! 😁 really made me smile! Hope you enjoy the pumpkins, despite a smaller harvest! I made some pumpkin pie and soup with some of mine today! What a joy to enjoy homegrown pumpkins on Halloween! Have a lovely week and look forward to the next one! 😊🪴💚
Thank you Sarah. I think bats are fascinating. I love to see them. It's great when the garden continues to surprise even as we move towards winter. I want to make a dessert pumpkin pie with the sugar pie one, but it's quite small! 🤣 Have a great week too 🤗
We really look forward to watching your videos. So much fun even when things don’t grow to plan. I always wonder if your neighbours can see you in your light up greenhouse chatting to yourself 😂😂 Love you got 1 sugerpie!! We only got 2. So the year of one each. Nice autumnal desert coming I feel. Not enough to make pumpkin puree this year. Keep smiling 😊 Allie & Tricia xx
Aw thank you Allie and Tricia. Haha - they probably can, but I think they're used to me talking to myself in the garden now! Yes, that's right they're supposed to be good for desserts right - might be time to make my first ever pumpkin pie!
What a truly lovely video, Kerry. So uplifting, so much joy! I was smiling along with you when you discovered so many things flowering, fruiting etc. Pure happiness! I am so sorry you didn’t get the pumpkin harvest you hoped for but the ones you did get look lovely. They are definitely a win after the rough start you had trying to get them going. So much going on in the garden too. Holiday looked lovely. Those gardens are beautiful. Great pick by your sister. She did good there. As for the spooky walk home… don’t tell her, but the mannequin in the green parka somehow reminded me of Becky 😅🫣😂
Aw you always leave such lovely comments ❤️❤️ ( well not for Becky 🤣🤣🤣. Good thing I didn't show the whole clip 👀 ) It's going to be all focus on pumpkins next year Clare. I WILL HAVE PUMPKINS!!!!!
Hi, Kerry 🤗 Lovely to see you had a fantastic holiday, a well deserved break 💚 I'm sure those pumpkins are going to be well appreciated and taste twice as delicious 🥰 Great update on the garden 😀💚🌿
Hope you had a lovely holiday Kerry! Looked very relaxing. Loved the lettuce bed 😃 aww the bats 🦇 Ooh love the broccoli - really wish I succession sowed more this year! You’ve also reminded me that I need to go and check my cape gooseberries. They’re in the garden at home and I keep forgetting about them. Wow the tromboncino!
Great video as usual. I’m so glad you had a lovely family holiday, you definitely deserved it. Your little laugh and always smiling even when things don’t go well, just cheer me up at such a dismal time of year. Your enthusiasm keeps me going. Thanks so much. Happy harvest, happy Halloween.
Everything looks so lovely in the fall. The colors in your back garden are fabulous right now. It was so nice to see your joy at finding surprises along the way. Looks like a trip to turkey with the family did you a world of good too. I could never leave packing to the last minute...LOL I start a few days ahead and keep trimming down what I want to bring with.
Doesn't it - I'm loving all the colour. It was super to get away for a week though and enjoy some sunshine after a pretty dull, wet summer here in England. Haha - I'm always a last minute packer!
ohhh what an eventuful week and looks like a fab holibobs and trust you to find something garden related lol still was nice to go to Turkey vicariously through you lol
It was a lovely surprise to find the resort was set in such beautiful gardens. I took loads of footage - esp of the bats, lol - so had to be a bit restrained when it came to editing the video.
All the joyful "OMG!" moments made me smile! Looks like you had a lovely holiday! I got 6 squash this year- 2 monster butternut, 2 small Uchilki and 2 small Crown Prince, but it's plenty to see us through the winter, so no complaints. Have a good week! 😊
Looks like you had a lovely holiday , I think you do an amazing job looking after the home garden and the allotment, I have a question about your gardening/ bum bag , well it looks like it's very handy , could you tell me where you had it from ? as I'm always loosing stuff and putting things down x
Lovely holiday thank you Rachel. It was from Etsy a few years ago. Try searching 'utility belt' or 'festival belt' on Etsy. My exact one is no longer on there but there are similar ones. I think I'm probably due a new one! It's super useful for dog walking but could also make a good gardening belt.
Haha - I wondered if anyone might ask because my mum is usually my dogsitter and of course she was away with us! Dorie had her own little holiday with a lady called Pauline from the church - she does some ad hoc dog sitting for friends and has raised puppies for dogs for the blind, so Dorie was in very good hands. Apparently Dorie was very well behaved and settled well - it's the first time she's stayed with anyone but family so I was a bit nervous but I needn't have worried! Thank your mum for asking! 💕🐶🤗

It's the thre foxes! I was so made when it happened to my sunflowers and Yh it was the foxes
Yeh pretty sure it was the foxes 🙄
Looked like you had a nice holiday in Turkey. It’s amazing what can happen in the garden whilst you go on holiday. Nature just takes over 😂
Haha that's very true of my growing spaces right now 🤣🤣🤣❤️
Always happy to see a new update from you and Dorie. Looked like it was a nice holiday. I'm glad you got some pumpkins in the end, although few.
3 is better than none - but I want more next year!!! 🤣 Thank you Trude 💕🤗

What a gorgeous white passionflower!
Isn't it just. I just saw a feature on them on gardeners world. I had no idea they came in so many varieties!
You made me spit my coffee! You creep in the bushes
Only on Halloween 👀

Risk it for a dark chocolate biscuit
That is not the saying
Colour on the berries wow...
Gorgeous aren't they. Apparently they're edible too, though not very tasty!
They next on my list.. thanks for letting us know.

I didn't end up thinking about my garden or plot at all really!
