@@ghaah The Nairs and Ezhavas were also proficient in Kalari, they were not Kshatriyas in the varna system.
@Siddhi As far as i know Ezhavas mainly do Agriculture and Nairs were warriors who practiced Kalari in their Ancestral Temples (Kudumba Kshetram). However their were exceptions like rich Thiyya were given Kurup and Panicker title and were allowed to practice Kalari in the Nair Kalari Temple. And warriors are called Kshetryas in Hindu system. Even the Madrass Regiment of Indian army is actually Nair Regiment 🙏

Northern style, shown here and also in most of such videos is the most popular mainly due to the superstars of that style..All those ballads.. However the Southern Style prevalent in and around Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala's capital city is equally tenacious and highly effective. A good number of fans even the Westerners are not aware of that much. If Northern style was initiated by Sage Parasurama, the Southern style originated from Sage Agastya or so the story goes. 👍🏼🤍

Kalari simply means space for learning and not yuddhbhumi. "Ayodhana" Kalari is where martial training is given whereas"Pathana" Kalari is where textual learning is imparted.
