The ancient University of Nalanda, located in present-day Bihar, India, was a renowned center of learning in ancient times. Founded around the 5th century CE, it reached its zenith in the 7th century under the patronage of the Gupta and Pala empires. Nalanda was a Buddhist center of education, attracting scholars from various parts of the world.
The university complex was vast, comprising classrooms, libraries, meditation halls, and living quarters for students and teachers. Nalanda was particularly known for its emphasis on the study of Buddhist philosophy, but it also offered courses in various subjects like astronomy, medicine, logic, and linguistics.
The university had a library named "Dharmaganja," which was said to be one of the largest libraries of ancient times. Nalanda's decline is often attributed to invasions, with the most significant being the 12th-century sack by the Turkish invader Bakhtiyar Khilji. The destruction of Nalanda marked a turning point in the decline of Buddhism in India.
Despite its demise, Nalanda remains a symbol of India's ancient educational and cultural heritage, and efforts have been made to revive its legacy through modern Nalanda University in the same region.

This is not just Hindus history but also the history of Indian muslims who are not even distantly related with Bhakthiyar Khalji a Turkish invader. Same is the case of Sharda Vidyapeeth an ancient University in Kashmir.

Being a Buddhist, I want to tell you that there is no any fault you all Muslim brothers. You Muslim brothers contribute in our economy. Past is past, that should not be involved in our present relations.
Bakhtiyar Khiliji was an afghani whose ancestors were obviously Buddhists. Nalanda was attempted to destroy twice before the final destruction.

It's a propoganda by colonist ... If you destroy someone's culture, made them despise their history, traditions the country will just be a western wannabe ...
They made Indian people hate Indian clothes so they can sell the same overpriced product they have manufactured in Manchester ...
Glad BJP came in power ... Even in G20 you can see how they are showing our culture rather than 5star hotels things
