I've gone from being a happy, proud, loud Christian to someone who's been hit with severe depression, doubt, anxiety and second-guessing my beliefs in God. Thank God for Fr. Mike and his team. I will be listening to this all year long and just want to get over my spiritual warfare and depression to happily serve our Lord
How beautiful that you are here. Mother Teresa went through times of doubt and spiritual suffering. The devil is trying to take you away from your hope. Pour out your heart to God. He can take it and he will help you at your lowest. Even when you can't see it immediately. I promise you are made for great things and there is better ahead.

I hear you. Hang on. It's mountains and valleys. God is there in both. Christians suffer. Jesus suffered. Just rest your head on His shoulders. 🙏
You are not alone in these feelings. I believe there is a lot of spiritual warfare that God is allowing to happen for our greater good...to lead us to Him through exercises and fellowship such as this bible study provides. Hang on...if only to the thread of His cloak. It is in these trying times that He is closest to us.
God bless & console you in your suffering. I suffer too w/depression. God made it clear to me that suicide was NOT an option! Don't give up - God will be with you. God bless & keep you! He loves you.

I just finished today. It took a year and a half but I couldn’t have done it at all without Fr. Mike! I was so emotional being the last day. But I’m starting all over again tomorrow and I will never stop reading the Bible. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. Started my journey to become closer to the Lord this year. I have been struggling the last few years. I think this is just the beginning of my spiritual journey and reawakening. ❤
I also am not catholic, I’m baptist, however, I really love ❤️ the way that Father Mike does bible study! I just completed my first Bible in a year study! I started my reading last year in January 2022! Now I’m starting it again today!
I started mine on Jan 1 2022 and I finish today, but before I do that I want to begin again.

Same here! Finished CIY on Dec.31st and excited to be starting BIY today from N.C.!
I am totally dependent on closed captioning. I was somewhat able to follow along on the podcast reading my Bible but when it came to Fr. Mike’s reflections, I was not able to understand what was said due to my severe hearing loss so that is where the closed captioning helps me 100%. The other thing that is good about this being on TH-cam is that I may not always have my Bible with me so I will still be able to follow along. Again,Thank you so very much for uploading all these with closed captioning!🥰
This is exactly what I was telling my hubby! I don't have a hearing loss, but I am a very visual person. I was fine while reading the bible, but it was hard for me to follow Fr. Mike during his reflections. This is perfect!

I just finished Catechism in a Year yesterday and started the Bible in a Year today. What a ride! ❤️🙏❤️

Two years ago I got halfway through Bible in a Year and fell behind. Making it through this year! 🎉
Ezekiel 13:2, beware of priests who teach from their imagination. They don't have the Holy Spirit. It's a sin to call Mike "father". Matthew 23:8. Easter is not in the Bible, Passover is in the Bible. Christians honor Jesus resurrection and Passover and Feast of unleavened bread in the same week. Matthew 22:17.Exodus 12. Forced celibacy of priests and nuns, and forced poverty to give up their worldly possessions is not in the Bible. 1Timothy 3:2. Rosaries are forbidden. Matthew 6:7. You are supposed to use Anointing oil not Holy Water. James 5:14 and Exodus 40:9.

Well today I'm going to start Bible in a Year for the second time. I feel like something's been missing in my life since I completed it the first time a couple months ago. I want my faith to keep getting stronger and stronger and sometimes I just feel so weak and overwhelmed by this world we live in. So for me the best thing to do is focus on Jesus and scripture

I found myself listening to Father today, last day of the month. I wish to be on this journey to the end. Before reading I was having a conversation with my mind on how I can be more consistent with everything in my life and especially learning about my faith. I'm really glad Im here this evening. I want to thank Father Mike and the whole team involved in Bible in a year. I listened to the podcast and finished the Bible today day 365 what a blessing it has been. I would have never been able to read it alone. I will start again tomorrow with Day 1.
I so totally agree with you Matt. I managed to follow right to the end but had to do a bit of binging after being on holiday but it has so been worth it. I can see the whole Bible so differently now and see exactly what Fr Mike says and Jeff, how it all fits together. If my memory fails me in the future I can so easily come back to it or even like today I feel drawn to hearing it again. God bless.
God is so amazing. I’m Canadian and this particular Bible is out of stock. I ordered it about 3 months ago. I just received it on Friday and now got an email saying the lessons are on TH-cam! The timing was perfect! Thank you Jesus and of course you too Fr Mike!

Beginning year 4 of Bible In A Year….Each year I have taken a different approach to this study.
Last year I used The Bible in a Year Companion Guides and a Gratitude Journal. This year I plan
on reading along in my Bible as Father Mike reads, then study the commentaries and spend more
time in prayer. Thank you Ascension and Father Mike. What a blessing this study continues to be
for me. Walking in faith with all of you…..May the Holy Spirit continue to guide each of us.

I have been there with PPD, 3 times. Not easy to stay upbeat when you’re exhausted from little sleep, housework piling up that you somehow should care about but don’t, feeling touched out from constant feeding plus older kids if you have them. I get it. Now my kids are 20, 17, and 13, and I actually miss those days. Still depression and anxiety are lifelong for me (even before kids), but treated with meds I am definitely having a lot more good days. Teen years are easier and more difficult. Harder to comfort and guide them, easier because they do a lot more self care. Just remember God blessed us with a beautiful gift in motherhood, and don’t forget Hail Marys too…she gets it! Will pray for you. Hope you are doing better.

This just took my faith/relationship to another level, quote "God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness, freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life," He wasn't lonely, or wondering what to do with his time.
Prior to reading this I sensed/believed God made us because He wanted to love us. And yes, in this explanation clearly there is His Love, that there is no other reason but to share His blessed life with us. A kind of 'I have this GREAT existence and I really want to give this to you,' I think God may even be giddy (my human standard of thinking, which I am pretty sure I'm not quite capturing it in God's glory/understanding and meaning, since God's ways are not our ways) but He REALLY wants to give this opportunity to us because it is such a great thing.
How cool!
Anyway, I love (no, CRAVE) God more after this. Not only because He wants to give me something that He thinks is so great but that He does so in a PERFECT manner, that this is a PURE desire coming from nothing else, no selfish/self-serving reasons. I so want to be like God, to be completely unselfish and to view that experience as the best thing ever. I wonder what that would be like, to exist with that feeling that we are more to each other but not ourselves and there is so much in that - true perfect Love. THAT, could be happiness for us and we may not know the full extent of that in our limited human understanding.
I want MORE God (as I says this tripping over myself on the way to God)!!!! Was that a prayer???
Please pray for me. Specifically, I feel the need for speed, in other words, I feel like a supersonic jet wanting to head towards God, BUT I need the assurance of a correct trajectory - that I am headed towards God. I don't want to be going super fast in the wrong direction.
To please pray for me for: I need the Holy Spirit, the angels, Jesus, God the father, Mary close and all YOUR prayers that my direction is right, OBEDIENCE, courage, mental clarity, the skills to do what God wants me to do, to HEAR Him when he is giving me an 'order,' the right almsgiving, need help with fear and anxiety too. Thank you.
Thank you Father Mike for such a wonderful podcast. I am dealing with trials and anxieties in my life currently and I feel like God found me through this. I am not Catholic nor do I attend any church but I have never had the word of God fill me completely as its presented through this program. Thank you so much. I started last week and am now on day 39.

I finished the CIY yesterday and am excited to be starting the BIY now. Two years ago I tried to do this on my own and made it more than half way before giving up. I did not know about this program.

I’m listening BIY for New Years Day 2024 and completed round one in 2023. I also completed CIY in 2023. For now just the BIY and referencing CIY. I continue to hunger more for more Our God and his Word. I find the companion booklets the go along with the daily readings essential. Last year being my first, I tried to write notes every day then I discovered the companion booklets, much better. Welcome to first timers, may you enjoy the ride, and spread the Word!!!

I'm starting over again, I struggle with the Word. But, thank you for reading the Word, then breaking it down so I 'get' it. God is so good to have given you this idea to aid us who have struggled all our life to know His Word, to know God and Christ better, on a deeper level.
Praise the Lord. Started the 365 day reading again today. But must say every time you read it our hearts and minds are opened to even newer revelations. Thanks be to God that we have The Word of God to open our eyes and heart to the truth.

This is my second time around Father Mike. I realized the importance of listening to our father's words on a daily basis. There is something new to discover each episode. The Bible is a message of our Father's love for us. Thank you so much Ascension Team for putting this together so beautifully. Thank you Father Mike for being our Priest and shepherding us through. I have studied for 4 years and then read it on my own over 5 more times but never understood the way I do now. I'm going to keep it as part of my life and I'm looking forward to the Catechism in a year next. You're in my pocket when I run each morning, "First Fruits," Father Mike. I'm not running alone! Thank god i found this youtube channel it helps me to understand the bible with a good and clear explaination. But in the book i dont really understand because no one explain it to me and the english is hard so thats why.

This is my 3rd year following the Bible in a year! As the word of God is alive and living and each time I get a different "message" from God. Praise God!🙏

I just finished Bible in a year and I can’t stop crying. I’m so thankful for FR. Mike and all involved put this podcast together. I’m 57 and never read the Bible from beginning to end before and I can’t believe this is the first time I actually did it! It was absolutely wonderful to have father Mike’s observations along the way. I am not the same woman and for the good I was a year ago when I started the podcast.
