      I think Crawford's boxing IQ and versatality are the keys to be the best chess match floyd would have prime vs prime.It could possibly be a big surprise in my opinion.What's your opinion ?

    • @BoxingGems
      @BoxingGems  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Floyd is the master. Crawford has had his toughest sequences vs counterpunchers that force him to initiate and attack in range. The way he has adjusted wouldn’t work vs Floyd who is a ridiculous counter puncher. I think Floyd out points Crawford

    • @kostantisvarikos3892
      @kostantisvarikos3892 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BoxingGems the truth is that L exaggerated.i just am a big bud fan,but seriously who you think could give an L to floyd ? A prime sweet pea or a prime roberto duran are my first thougths,but is very debatable even for them.Except castillo and maidana who in my opinion both lost by one point in their first fights with mayweather but if mayweather wasn't such a big money cow for the promoters ;judges could give the decisions the other side without being a robbery for sure.Lastly,don't forget mayweather wasn't the same fighter at lightweight up to welterweight.At welter he did't risk so much;he punched as much as needed to win rounds and he was hit much less because of that and also his experience.

    • @BoxingGems

      @@kostantisvarikos3892 Did you check out my Floyd series? Check it out if you didn’t fam. To answer your question, I have no idea who would actually beat Floyd in a fantasy matchup. Sweet Pea would definitely have a chance to out point him. Duran, I don’t know. If you watch the film, Duran seems like the fighter that Floyd modeled his control and guard manipulation game after.
      I had Floyd beating Castillo 8 rounds to 4 but I can see 7-5. I just watched that recently. My scorecard was 115-111 like 2 of the judges due to both having points taken. I haven’t watched Maidana 1 in a while. Don’t remember that scorecard. And yes I agree, when Floyd became Money May he just relied on out smarting and outpointing his ops. But I think he was trying to KO Ortiz, Cotto and Mosley after he was hurt.

    • @kostantisvarikos3892
      @kostantisvarikos3892 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BoxingGems It's a difficult question for sure and indeed floyd took lessons from duran.Duran mentioned that too in an interview.As for the fights you mentioned it was a pleasure to see floyd hustle it out.

    I loved this fight! I had never seen Khan get outboxed before! In every other fight Khan lost...he was clearly out boxing his opponent before getting clipped with some hard and knocked out. Against Crawford....he had no answers for the boxing clinic Crawford was putting on and therefore opted to quit due to a "low blow"! Critics will never admit that Crawford is a genius in that ring! 💯🔥💯

    Thank you for this post !! It’s hard to explain Bud’s skills to those that knows close to nothing about boxing. When I try to explain they bring up Bud’s resume or that he’s with top rank. With skills like his it doesn’t matter who’s on his resume, those who understand boxing recognize Bud’s high skill level.

    Thanks for recommending this video. You officially got a fan bro. As a boxing purest I smiled through the whole video. It’s good to see someone just break the sweet science of boxing for once and not have to debate Crawford greatness. It’s also good to see other Crawford supporters in the comments as well. It’s tough being a Bud fan these days with all the disrespect he receives.

Who knows about the young guys like Boots, they won't give him the shot yet. It's a all around disappointing division in my opinion as far as fights getting made that we want to see. The top PBC guys can afford to hand pick their opponents because of the talent on the roster. They don't have to take a lot of risk and can load up the undercard to sell fights. @@BoxingGems hmm he is more skilled for sure, you sure he can cope with buds athleticism and variation though?, this is a Strong man with Elite Athleticism x Physicality, has the skill and the iq too, don't forget bud is slightly longer and taller and knows how to use it , initially I said floyd UD winning 8 or 9. But some of Floyd's hardest fights came against athletic guys who were happy to mix it up against him and had good punch selection, bud is a better athlete than alot of guys mayweather faced, I feel like it's alot more 50/50 than many would imagine. I'd still lean FMJ though but I'd worry for floyd over 12 rounds with someone who hits that well and has that athleticism

    • @firellparker7463
      @firellparker7463 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm split, Floyd UD seems logical and he takes 8/9 rounds but bud winning by ko is logical too, as I've said to BG in the comment abov4, we've seen floyd have some of his toughest fights against athletic guys with variation, simply because it gives him less time to process and forces him to go off instincts more, to me it comes down to if mayweather can navigate his athleticism x physicality, bud would vary what he does against floyd and vice versa because that's how they fight and they go off habits and opponents rhythm, that's the iq and adaptability in both, but with Crawford you always have to worry physically and mentally because he can catch you clean and KO you, and he will take a hit add walk you down to get his punches off and download the information he needs, we've seen him physically bully guys as well, and then floyd will have to navigate the slight reach advantage too, we've seen bigger physically stronger guys than floyd have issues with all of the above, I'd need to see FM navigate it, if he does then he wins based on what they've shown us so far.

    • @BoxingGems
      @BoxingGems  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The book on Crawford is catch him while he is initiating offense either while he’s closing distance or by countering his attack. Patient counterpunchers have the best success vs Crawford. Floyd is better at that by far than any of Crawford’s opponents.
      Crawford will adjust basically becoming Errol Spence. Double jabs to get you to shell up then attack the body. Or he will start to be more clever and bait the attack with feints and probes so he can counter the counter. Or, he tries to turn the fight into a brawl. Floyd is happy staying patient and potshot from distance. Floyd is also a monster on the inside if you force it….But who really knows? Anything can happen in boxing and this is a fantasy fight so their is no way anybody can be sure. Diving deep into a fantasy fight really isn’t my thing.

    • @firellparker7463
      @firellparker7463 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BoxingGems this is true, was telling people on another channel, initiating Counters seemed to work, that's what MM and Porter did, he found ways around it, they basically pissed him off so he beat them up, fantasy are hard to to do lots of things change, the reason I think it's quite close though is because bud is a super versatile fighter, floyd is too but fighting someone versatile makes it hard to process or anticipate what they will do, the fights where floyd has had troubles came from guys who limited his processing time ( hes too good smart and instinctive to overwhelm/pressure him,) but slowing him down has shown to hsbe some kind of success, and 1 way of doing that is changing what you do constantly, then you look at the fact that bud would be one of the better athletes hes faced along with the versatility switch hitting and power, even in a brawl, bud is still quick elusive using different punches and placing his head in a way where fighters tend to overextend, that's a tough fight, im not saying FMJ doesn't win, but the matchup imo is alot tougher than many think, at 1st I thought floyd gets him relatively easy but thinking about it, it's a tough fight for both. I'd still pick FMJ because he's fhe,ultimate end boss

  • @hisgrace956

    • @BoxingGems
      @BoxingGems  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want to have a discussion let’s keep it factual. Spence averaged 78 punches per round vs Ugas. 78 x 12 = 936. He threw 707 vs Danny Garcia. He threw 745 vs Porter. He threw 633 against Brook in 11 rounds. Spence doesn’t average anywhere near 1000 punches per fight. The Mikey Garcia fight was the exception, not the standard.
      Crawford has been averaging 38-42 punches per round which would be 460-500 punches per fight.
      Crawford typically lowers his opponents punch output by controlling distance. In fact, he’s elite at it. So if Porter held Spence to 750 and Garcia held Spence to 700 without necessarily controlling distance, it’s likely Crawford holds Spence to considerably less punches thrown.

    • @JamesLee-mg1wu

      @@BoxingGems You want to get factual when it comes to Spence. You use hyperbole when it comes to Crawford. He has NEVEF thrown more than 442 punches in a single fight
      Any way you chew, Spence doubles Crawford's punch output or more. Numbers don't lie.
      All that punch accumulation won't either.
      Crawford has 1 single solitary path to victory. = KO Spence. The chances of that are slim and none. And both of them dudes ride together 🤣

      I can’t say a 3 division, 140 Undisputed Champions prime was wasted. Also, I don’t know if the problem is that Bob is racist or not, I think he’s just old (out of touch) and greedy and did some bad business on bad business projections. The 4 million guarantee per fight for Crawford hasn’t panned out and that’s Bobs fault. It was his deal. I’m not sure if Crawford gets the fights he wants (which was the belt holders) regardless of who he signs with. It’s probably more likely he gets the fights but there is no guarantee.
