I remember sparring him when he was still 16-17 years old in Akron at his fathers gym off Howe ave fast as lighting and hit like a truck always a super guy very respectful and super fight iq! I’m glad he’s done so well

Watching the old buildings and talks of how rough it was in Omaha gave me flashbacks to the old Kronk gym in detroit. Oh boy, did that gym save so many lives and birthed some of the greatest champions.

The original was destroyed but we also trained in the church's basement. Normally we'd have both locations running at once but now we're down to just the church. The smell is the same. Leather, sweat, and success lol.

Kenny porter is a great trainer man, its that his son just loves to throw wild shots, be on attack mode non stop, forget about defense and cross his feet and go off balance nonstop. Its all over the film studies of this fight. Shawn is gritty as hell, and is a warrior. But his fundamentals are lacking and they will be the difference in this fight
I believe the Tale of the Tape Porter typically faces influence Porter to get away from trying to cleanly box to decisions. He’s giving up 4.5” here, so he has to do what he has to do again.

I really like Porter and the the respect he has for fighters and the sport. Especially the love and respect he has for the sweet science. He doesn't fight for a check, and he's also the type of fighter who always tries to improve and will study fighters, and watch tapes and create a store plan from scratch when coming up againt a fighter.
