Fabulous video Paul! I love the South West Coast Path. I have not got around to walking that bit yet! It looked a fabulous walk and the colours were stunning! I love both Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton so it was delightful to see both in this video! The polarising lens really made the colours pop. Fantastic and very enjoyable!

After doing that piece to camera near the end of Exmouth beach, ⛱️ when I found the sun was a bit to dazzly and whites were a bit burnt out, I thought my vlogging wide angle lens would make things look too far away from the top of the cliffs. So, I used another camera with a different focal length and a polariser filter on the end of the lens. They work a bit like polarising sunglasses 😎 and reduce glare and reflections from the water, as well as making the colours more vibrant. I also turned up % of the Canon LUT (Look Up Table) effect to make it even more colour saturated in the editing program. Glad to hear you noticed! It obviously would not suit every video, but I thought it did here. Thanks for a lovely comment. I enjoyed the walk, and I also enjoyed putting this one together in the rain at home! You choose a good day weatherwise for the walk. We stayed at Haven when my son was young. It wasn’t that ginormous size😀 He loved the mountain bike course( he was 5!) And 1 of the restaurants overlooked the sea at the bottom of the site so was beautiful to eat there. Your filming was great and your choice of music always matches so well. Very,very enjoyable. Yes, I think that the Haven Holiday Park has really grown over the past couple of years - it was still being added to when I was there! There was a huge crane lifing in more caravans/chalets. I did see that restaurant - and it looked like it had great views. Two things Paul. When I used to take photos, I usually kept my polarising filter on because I found that it reduced haze even on days that were not bright. I was lucky in that my filter was clear glass and not tinted. I am interested as to why it interferes with your faces to camera shots. Secondly, Check out the River Otter Restoration Project. You might find interesting to include a before and after slot when you do your River Otter video; and the working mill at Otterton is not one to miss. Thanks for this video. I've never walked the route that you took because the military camp and the holiday park put me off. It showed me what I missed.
Hi John, Yes, it isn't that it interfers with my face, just the size of the focal length of the lens, and the size of the lens for the polarising filter and its screw size. I didn't have the polariser for my wide angle vlogging lens on that occasion, just the one for my standard zoom lens (which is a different diameter). I can't use the standard zoom on me because you'd just see my face, and nothing of the background! On a very technical note, polarising filters can bring about an unwanted 'colour shift', which can make colours look odd, or too 'cold', unless you compensate for that. So, rather than using the 'sunshine' setting for the colour temperature, I set it to 4800 Kelvin, which makes it fairly 'warm' without it being too red. The campsite isn't really my thing - it is very big now! Also, the rifle range is very noisy too - not an ideal holiday spot, but it doesn't detract from the walk too much, and the lovely views from the cliffs more than make up for it. I am hoping to return to Budleigh Salterton, and walk to Otterton which will take in the River Otter estuary and nature reserve, so I hope to do that as soon as I am able with all the other projects I have going at the moment! Hi Paul, You got some great clips of the coastline. The different colours made a great contrast I guess that was partly to do with changing your camera setup and lense. Top marks!! Interesting to hear you comment on it being bone dry there, I remember you commenting about that area west of Plymouth having a microclimate, but here looks too exposed, so it must be abnormally dry. Thats quite an interesting stretch of coastline from the first canal in the UK to the hoard of Roman coins (perhaps they got lost down the back of a Roman sofa!!), I had a quick look to see what the red rock was and came across a document entitled "The ‘Red Coast’ - Exmouth to Sidmouth", there it tells me: The geoneedle is a monument that marks the start of the Jurassic Coast. It is made of Portland Stone, but the central column of the obelisk displays the rock types from the main formations seen along this stretch of coast. Of course one of your trips to the coast always sends me for my AA book, in there it tells me that Sir Walter Raleigh was born nearby in Hayes Barton, the house still exists - thats quite remarkable. Budleigh Salterton was also home to the painter Millais who painted the The Boyhood of Raleigh, which appears in mini in my book, well worth a read of its entry on the web. I've watched twice now, very enjoyable well done, have a great week. PS: Look forward to the next one, there are quite a few interesting abandoned and preserved lines in that area!!

I couldn't get over just how dry the ground was, especially with how wet it was around Stretton-on-Fosse in Warwickshire.
